The list author says: "As an instructor (and Ex. Prod. most days), I often get asked what are the best books for aspiring animators.
I created this list from my personal library.
Many of these books deal with the nuts & bolts of animation techniques & approach. Some deal w/ art, design, storyboarding or illustration as these are related to, and helpful in, working in the animation industry. A few apply to industry-standard software that your may want to learn. And others are purely for inspiration.
You won't see any "all-about" books here as they all seem to reprint the same stuff. Pick any one yourself. They usually are titled something like "THE book on animation" (Tony White's Animator's Notebook PDF series).
I even included some DVD gems.
(FYI, I have credits on Emmy-winning TV series, theatrical, & commercial productions.)"
"Five stars. Still have mine bought in the 1970s! While the earlier editions are best, any of these editions are good. The Walter Foster editions (How to Draw Cartoon Animation) don't do anything for me."
