Bob's Burgers is a new animated series about a man, his family and a burger joint. A third-generation restaurateur, Bob Belcher runs Bob's Burgers with the help of his uptight wife and their three underachieving kids. Bob has big ideas about burgers, condiments and sides, but only a few thoughts on customer service and business management.
This is a fun show with quirky characters who do not go over the line into just offensive or moronic behavior.
This is the only season available as a retail quality DVD, with decent quality video that will play on a computer DVD drive. All other season are print on demand, with low quality production/video, with no guarantee they will play on a computer drive. Basically junk according to other reviews. I won't buy disks that may end up being unplayable, so until Fox and Amazon offer a properly manufactured DVD of the other season, this will be the only season I buy.
With the loss of Futurama there a lack of real good funny cartoons. You have The Simpsons well it is not like it use to be, the only really good ones are the Halloween episodes, I am not saying there have not been any funny episodes in the past 5 years but it just does not get me to the point I Have To See It. OK SouthPark yes funny but there is times where you have to google to understand parts (Problem with The Simpsons too) and it is a hit or miss show on the funniness scale. Family Guy like SouthPark it can be a hit or miss, the older stuff is better. Now to Bob's Burgers, it not like some of the CRAZY (good) stuff you get only on AdultSwim. It is funny but in a real way, like the cow episode or the competition with Jimmy Pesto. It is a Funny show, it does not try to be funny it just naturally turns a simple event into a funny event. A show that is Very GOOOOOD!!!!! Needs a Blu Ray treatment, DVD is good but a good show should be given a BD.
I love my bob & all of the belchers. Great way to entertain myself wen insomnia strikes. I just put on my Louise ears sit back & enjoy my favorite family. There is nothing special about the dvd, nothing unique, just a great piece of entertainment. The picture & sound r fine. I ask no more. My husband fixes my martini for watching. I highly recommend this dvd.
I love, love, love Bob's Burgers - especially the short season 2. This DVD set is great - it has the pilot and history of the show's development. That was insightful and entertaining. The only bummer which is a risk with any standard DVD is that there is some artifacting on the shows when watching on an HD TV. This is to be expected, but after watching the shows in HD on Netflix and Hulu, it was jarring to say the least, but not unwatchable. The commentary and bonus features make this a must have for any fan of the show, but if it is available on BluRay, it would be worth the difference. Even though it sounds snobbish, seeing the lines as crisp as the artists intended is a treat and joy to watch! Support the show!
Got all 5 seasons , Very funny ! Cant tell which character is my favorite , theyre all riots and unlike a lot of cartoons on TV these days you can be at ease watching Bobs Burgers with both your small children and your parents in the room . Worth the money !
I remember watching this show when it first aired and I loved it. From what I have heard, not many people liked the first episode. I personally like that episode the best, but everyone has their own opinion.
As for the season itself, it comes with two discs with a bunch of extras. By a "bunch of extras," I mainly mean commentaries for every episode in season one. There is an interesting demo and extra audio too. I have yet to watch Louise and the Chalkboard so I have no idea what that extra is about. Overall, I am happy with my purchase. Fifteen dollars isn't bad for an entire season. I'd highly recommend this series. What's not to love about it?
Although I think the show really hits its stride in seasons 3 and 4, it's still fun from the beginning. I bought the dvd set primarily for the bonus audio commentaries, but TBH they really aren't great. it's fun to listen to the cast & creators chat, but they don't seem to know how to put together an interesting episode commentary. Still, for the price it's a good deal for a funny show.
Bob deals with all nonsense like it is to be expected. Corny, dry wit, but ferocious when it comes to protecting his family & restaurant. Linda (Lin) is so goofy and so altruistic. She constantly gets caught up in the nonsense, often instigating but usually forgiving and always affectionate. Tina is the introverted, gullible, horny teenager that is all over the place and highly suggestible. Louise is the antagonist, protagonist, sarcastic, highly intelligent, mischievous, tweener who is adorable with her bunnyears hat and her total manipulation of her family. Frankly, the son Gene is the best boy cartoon character since Bobby Hill.
Check out Season 1 and I bet you'll go for the rest of the seasons. I did.
