Of the various Tenchi Muyo series and spin-offs, this one has the blend of action and comedy that most appeals to me.

The dubbing cast does a marvelous job, as is usually the case. Jamie Marchi sounds like she's having just too much fun as Mexiah, and Jad Saxton does a great job of conveying a range of emotions as Lashara .. from confidence to loneliness, and with a suitably regal air, the performance is excellent. J. Michael Tatum's Ulyte Mesut is suitably ambiguous throughout the series, keeping the audience guessing his motivations until the end. Jason Liebrecht is great as Kenshi, dodging the advances of his growing unintended harem. Really, the entire cast delivered solid performances, and many got the chance to show some versatility in their roles.

The ADR directing and script writing deserves some credit for creating the opportunity for the cast to really put their talents to use.

Visually, the art style appeals to me. The use of shadow on the faces and bodies of the characters gives them a feeling of depth, and makes the visuals more impressive. The occasional use of cliches like "cute little fangs" and the like is somewhat unavoidable, but their usage here is low, which helps with the more serious tone of the overall story. Facial expressions are used well to help convey the emotion, and the voice actors matched their tones to the visuals nicely.

Pacing is also good. The series shifts moods as it progresses, but the result is a great blend. Episode 1 starts the series with action, and establishes many of the characters quickly and clearly. Episodes 2-7 are weighted more toward the comedy and harem-building, though they each contain some action as well and do a good job of advancing the plot.

Over powered/perfect male protagonist in a mostly female world. Like other Tenchi Muyo spin-offs, it's a mostly female dominated society with one strong male protagonist which is a cut above the rest, leading to an unintentional harem. This one has a good plot too.

I enjoy it because it's a peaceful show which has a good pace, making for a rather relaxing watch. The music is good and the episodes are long. I tend to watch it while trying to sleep. It is a good show which can be watched and re-watched with enjoyment.

Does not include commercials. It does contain some nudity of female tops, but no sex. Show does contain, but does not focus on violence.

Great series as a Tenchi Muyo fan since I saw the original back in the 90s I loved this one more then any of the other recent shows and would the give the show 4 to 5 stars depending on your tolerance for harem comedy hijinks that the franchise is known for. This rating is a 3 stars only because the streaming doesn't give you language options nor closed caption. I can do without the original voice work but I adore being able to read the close captions so the inability to do so is a negative. Great show but firm understanding of that will probably determine whether or not how a person might want to pick up this show.

Best Tenchi in the series Ive seen yet by far. Don't know why Tenchi gets grouped with the fanservice series - maybe back in the day it could be considered fanservice but after shows like Sekirei, Green Green, etc etc waaay over the top boob shots, panty shots etc etc but now its so tame by todays standards. Great plot - wasn't expecting a mecha series but I enjoyed it thoroughly

I know this might not be a popular opinion, but I didn't like this installment. All in all I was disappointed, especially since I like the dub cast. The artwork is lovely and the concept seemed interesting at first, but with 45 minute episodes and no plot to fill them other than (girls chase MC around for half the episode because he's the only boy) I found myself in danger of falling asleep more than once. I got sick of hearing all the female characters talk about how great our hero is and having the plot move forward very little. Some of the reviews I have read seemed to praise that it did not rely on action -- and that would be great if there was any drama to speak of, or anything funny to laugh at. I cannot recommend this one.

I accidently came across this series on Hulu, but it was in Japanese ,and you know I actually enjoy watching this series, with the subtitles . Decent comedy no T& A scenes but they do come kinda close with sujestive scenes . But no Full on nudity, so relax the English translation is sorta DULL .Id kinda like to be able to choose language to view it in though . That done, I think you'll really enjoy this series, I bought 2nd part BD/DVD combo and decided to just buy the HD version and stream it .Thru my computer , also check out "Horizon in the Middle of Nowhere", if your looking for similar type of series too .I.E; im not trying to give the story away , its all good .Just wish they'd do another season .

An off shoot of the Tenchi Muyo series. If you have watched the various Tenchi Muyo versions then you will understand the main characters references to his many sisters. Best viewed if you have seen Tenchi Muyo OVA or Tenchi Muyo Universe. But still a great series on its own. A good mix of action and humor with interesting concept involving the fighting machines.
