This is only for the first couple of episodes. Love It or List It is fun, and has been around for 10 seasons or so. These early episodes bother me because Hillary's "I know it all" attitude comes off as grating. I know that's the persona she portrays, but it still bothers me. I believe a designer should be more open to the input of his or her clients and their likes and dislikes. In episode 2 she told the couple that a sentimental piece of furniture was ugly. They loved it. She should have buttoned up and figured out a way to work around it. It was insulting to the couple.
David has been showing people homes $100,000 more than their budget. Are the people on these shows made of money? That said, I loved the artwork in the second listed home the couple were shown in Episode 2. I wish I knew the artist's name!
ETA: Check out the paint job the designer did on the original home. They must not have taped off when they cut in. Every close-up of corners, etc., shows how uneven the painting is. I know it's a show and the people on it probably got price breaks. However, they did invest $40,000 I think it was. For that I would expect a paint job that was tons better than something I could have done myself.
I tried this because I really enjoy Love It or List It Too. the feel of this one is different. The reveals are still nice, but the designer isn't . . .. She isn't a nice person. It wasn't entertaining to me to watch her be insensitive, condescending, inconsiderate and presumptuous.
I really enjoy watching Hillary and David. The set ups are a little corny, but cute at the same time. The house re-dos are amazing and David finds some really great houses. I love waiting to hear if the couples plan to "love it or list it". Great show.
