"12 Monkeys" will continue the journey of James Cole (Aaron Stanford), a man sent back in time to eradicate the source of a deadly plague, and his partner, brilliant virologist Dr. Cassandra Railly (Amanda Schull). While attempting to untangle an insidious conspiracy that's been spun throughout centuries, the duo embark on a desperate search across time to find the man responsible for the apocalyp
I never considered myself a huge science fiction fan but started watching because of Aaron Stanford. After the pilot of season 1 there was no turning back. I'm a writer and the imagination and creative story telling in this show is amazing. And...I love time travel. Binge watching 12 Monkey's is the best way to watch seasons 1-3. If I would have had to watch one episode a week with commercials, I would have been lost and confused, and would have missed some fantastic twists. Looking forward to season 4.
I give it 5 stars cuz season 3 continues the story. I had to watch the previous seasons to refresh my memory. I was really disappointed when I opened the case to see that I had paid over $40 for 2 discs.... Then beyond angry when I wanted to use subtitles and "none" displayed on the screen. These companies need to understand there are many many times during the show that we can't quite hear what's being said. I don't appreciate over paying for something that I've waited so long to see only to not catch everything that's said during the show. Why wasn't it & season 4 released on DVD? Not everyone wants to pay for over priced satellite or cable!! If I buy it that means I like it & had to wait for it to be released. Give us our money worth give us subtitles!!!
Having not liked the film, I avoided the series for years, but, after reading a number of positive reviews, I decide to give it a chance and I am glad I did.
"12 MONKEYS" is well written, wonderfully acted and tightly directed and surpasses the film in every way. The viewer is moved through a dense and complicated world with ease and finesse, additionally many of the complicated story lines and characters are interwoven with others, so it's best to watch without distractions; I find watching a series that takes all of my attention to enjoy to be highly satisfying.
If you're on the fence about watching, WATCH IT RIGHT NOW!, my only regret is that it took me three years to give the first episode a chance.
I love this show, SyFy has done it again. It was amazing to binge watch the whole season but I will be watching it again and maybe again. So much to take in and so many new twists to this story. They have come out with some of the most amazing new Science Fiction shows and there are many that I just love. This is one of the top ones, but there is also Dark Matter and Killjoys with great stories, well developed characters with some mystery to their past.
I started watching this Sci-Fi TV series when it first came out and haven't looked back. I found every new episode as exciting as the first if not better. The characters are all well thought out and the plot keeps your attention every episode. I've always been intrigued by time travel and this show feeds my curiosity. With every episode brings new locations that make you feel like you're there. That's why I'm a huge fan of Timeless and The Librarians, also. What I find very interesting is how they managed to find a couple of actresses that look like other famous actresses. I personally think actress Emily Hampshire (Jennifer Goines) looks just like Ally Sheedy of Breakfast Club and Amanda Schull (Cassandra Railly) looks just like Nicole Kidman - only better. The character Jennifer Goines seems to even channeI that basket case personality of Ally Sheedy and I enjoy how Jennifer uses famous phrases from other movies - i.e. 'Here's Johnny' from The Shining, etc... I can't wait for Season 4 to premier.
The 1995 movie "12 Monkeys" is one of my favorites, so I thought I'd give the series a chance. I binged seasons one and two, which were outstanding. Then, I purchased season three, and it just keeps getting better and better. If you want a great story, characters, acting, and some philosophical depth, and you don't mind a bit of jumping around in time, this is a show for you. One of the best I've watched recently. I eagerly await season four and the conclusion of the story.
Really excellent writing, intelligent, funny and lots of cool plot twists & turns. Acting very good also, and its nice to see previously rather minor characters come forward with bigger parts to play. I rather like Deacon, and there is quite an odd mystery posed about him. I do hope they go into it in later shows.
