I highly recommend this to anyone trying to understand the terrible disease ...

I highly recommend this to anyone trying to understand the terrible disease of ALS. I watched it because a friend of mine was diagnosed with it. Sadly, about 2 1/2 weeks after I watched it, he passed away from the disease. But I got to spend time with him after I watched this, and before he passed. It helped me understand what his journey would be like, which then helped me to be more compassionate. We need to find a cure for this disease! I highly recommend donating to Augie's Quest, or any other research foundation that will work on a cure. In the meantime, for all of you who know someone with this disease, just try to make every day the best it can be.

Funny, poignant, inspiring story --
Watching the journey of Augie and Lynne Nieto from 'masters of the universe' to caring activists is unique and touching. Nieto founded LifeFitness, drove his Ferrari, worked too much, partied and made money until his ALS diagnosis 13 years ago. It's beautiful to watch Augie and his incredible wife, Lynne as they comprehend the news - from devastation to humility and vulnerability, and then hope and determination to LIVE and fund the development of a drug. Filmmaker James Keach performs a miracle (ANOTHER miracle, after Glen Campbell... I'll Be Me) in making a movie that includes Augie's perspective using green-screen, Augie's computer screen, and tons of humor. Makes you appreciate all you have and examine the priorities you choose... Loved this film.

I have known Augie and Lynne for decades. This movie is the real deal. Augie's determination to live and cure ALS is unstoppable. I'm glad to see his humor and twinkling eyes shine through too. Lynne's graciousness, humor, love, and compassion are so inspirational. This is a moving love story you will not want to miss.

As real as it gets...I loved every second! <3
I loved it! Poignant, real, raw and beautiful! Not only does it shine a light on the horrific disease that is ALS, but it does so in a very compelling way. It's not all darkness with Augie Nieto...he brings hope, humor, energy and a whole lot of love to this story. And really, having Lynne beside him for all of these years, I can see how life is simply worth living. These two are the quintessential love story <3
