Heartbreakingly Beautiful movie

So I finally got to watch this beautiful movie. It feels like I've been waiting forever for it, from the announcement of the movie, to set photos, to watching it tour the world. And I just have to say, it was totally worth the wait. I rented it, then immediately purchased it after watching. A beautiful portrayal of a heartbreaking reality for so many. Crystal Chappell and Jessica Leccia's natural chemistry with one another, and their superb acting skills made it all so real, and so heart wrenching. Looking forward to sharing this with my wife later, as this is a topic that hits home for us.

I have lived through a family member with early onset, and it really is a hard to go through. This movie was so well done, I really thought the characters were right with me living though the phases and all. It is such a heartbreaking fact of life and I was happy to watch a movie that portrayed the facts so well, and at the same time did not skirt around the hardships. This was a hard movie to watch, yet so well played, I am so happy to be able to share this with my family. Thank you Perfect Features and Open Book Productions for such a realistic movie. Jessica Leccia and Crystal Chappell, this movie really touched my heart, thanks for a great production.

Learning to deal with a real problem!
Verified purchase
the show starts with eva coming home and looking for lainey her girlfriend,
just to find out she is gone,
but from there, the story starts, lainey is a soap opera actress in a very popular show "valley springs"
she is the lead actress and one day during one of the taping, she starts saying her lines to her co-star
he says part of it and the rest she stumbles through it, she just figures its her being tired
she works 5 days a week and 12 hour days, maybe get some rest and try again later
another day and she is taping the show again and it happens again, her girlfriend is on set that day
she is beginning to wonder maybe its time to take a break from acting and just take a long vacation
they talk about about it and lainey decides its time to walk away from acting all together.
eva and lainey rent a beach resort type house and enjoy each other till eva starts noting
lainey forgetting simple little things and they finally make the decision to go to a dr and do some test
and see whats going on, it starts with maybe something is wrong, but not for sure and later
they do a follow up and do the test again and its getting worse, lainey is forgetting more ,
lainey don't want to believe this and she is a fighter and she fights the truth from everyone, but herself
you have to see the rest of the show to see what happens and how they learn to deal with the problem
this movie is really close to reality in some people and you can learn from this if it happens in your life
with someone you love, very well written and some great acting for this part by all involved, there is some really hard scenes to see and there are some really funny parts as well, this will be a show you will never forget!

I laughed and I cried. Such a great movie. I have watched loved ones go through this and I thought this movie was point on. Crystal and Jessica portrayed this difficulties in dealing with this disease so well. I think people sometimes forget how hard it is for the caregivers. It is just as hard if not harder on them than the one who has Alzheimers. While movies like this are hard to watch, I am so happy I did. We must all make the most of the time we have. It is heart wrenching but at the same time beautiful .

A heartbreaking diagnosis
Verified purchase
Great acting and fairly well portrayed but Lainey almost too aware of her deficits to be able to plan ahead although it was earlier in the film when she had greater moments of lucidity. I also want to mention that legal papers once you've been diagnosed are usually not legally binding, something for family members or guardians or friends to keep in mind. Scenes with aggression very well done. How not to talk to someone with dementia at the one hour mark was outstanding. I took off a star because I think the movie lost the opportunity to give more information about the disease. This disease can be more difficult for the caretakers, family members, or friends then the actual patient especially as they get deeper into the illness.
