I hope this game does not turn out to be like Battlefield 4...

..or like Call of Duty Ghosts. Mind you, I obviously don't mean the gameplay, I mean how well developed the game is and how it functions. I'm one of the many suckers who preordered Battlefield 4, only to find out that the developers for that game made the gamers the testers rather than buy their own and released BF4 sooner than usual.
What do you think, though? Do you think Dark Souls 2 will be a half-baked released title and/or with downgraded gameplay that's even more unbalanced? Why or why not?

Also, do you recommend pre-ordering this title?

I don't think this game will be rushed. It was 2 years between Demon's Souls and Dark Souls, and Dark Souls turned out well. There's even more time between Dark Souls and Dark Souls II, so I don't think there will be anything to worry about. It doesn't seem like they're trying to rush it.

I thought about pre-ordering this, since I wanted the black armor edition, but I never finished Dark Souls (I got to a point where I screwed myself over and absolutely could not proceed, so I had to start over and just haven't had any motivation) and I thought I could just wait until I can get the game cheap used.

There is one benefit to pre-ordering it: You will be on equal grounds with everyone right from the get-go.

Where are you stuck? Although it's very hard, this game can be beaten at level 1 without any armor. I don't think there's a possibility of getting completely stuck in this game. Let me know if you need any help! I've beaten it quite a few times now, and it's well worth beating.

And to answer the question for this thread, I'd even be ecstatic if it were just the same as Dark Souls 1 but with a different layout. I highly doubt this game is going to be half-baked. I haven't pre-ordered a game in forever, but this game broke that silence.

The fact that From made such a great game as Demon's Souls with very little in the way of resources is a testament to their talent. Now they've got all sorts of funding coming from Namco/Bandai, so you're not just going to see minimalistic improvements. I think we'll all be pleasantly surprised when the game lands in our mail-boxes!

I certainly hope so. The little quirks they changed in the Stats (like Strength) have their own traits as well, like being able to damage Stamina the more Strength you have.

I want the armored edition so its better to preorder.I hope amazon does not smash it up in shipping. EA doesn't own this so it can't be FUBAR.

Well, at the very least, they have pushed the release date to March when it was going to be released earlier (I forget the date for that), so you know they are making sure it does what it's supposed to do. I just hope that the gameplay overall is more refined and balanced so we don't see people abusing a particular playstyle, item, weapon, and so on. I hate overused and/or overpowered methods.

And, I also hope that players can not just quit right before they are going to be invaded. Getting disconnected is a waste of time for both sides.
