how come Star Wars: The Complete Saga (Episodes I-VI) [Blu-ray] price increased it use to be $79.99 now it is $82.99 plus tax but not good math is it because Christmas sales or is so popular of the clone wars i don understand why the price increased can some one help that
$79.99 is actually a pretty good discount from the list price, if you didn't notice. My guess is, now it's been out a little more than a week, they're moving back from bargain prices to charge through the nose. Most things seem to get more expensive after the initial discounts are ended, and then less expensive after a while has passed, when it's consider less of a hot, new item, if you take my meaning.
Either way, I hope people don't belly ache too much over a $3 price increase. It hardly seems drastic as yet to me.
Good Zod man it went up even two MORE dollars! Horrors! ;) Ahh, it's probably hover around the same price through Xmas. Though I'm sure they have a "formula" to calculate sales vs. expected sales vs. the season etc. and basically... even though this is a big blu-ray release, Amazon and the studios know what they're doing.
I would expect at least a one-day sale on it where it drops BIG. Or maybe one of those limited hour sales. $59.99? $49.99?
Every retailer changes prices. Supply and demand, or competitive pricing. Sometimes they want to beat the competitior, sometimes they keep them at an even keel because they know you'll buy from them anyway.
Just a quick look at the time of typing this, Target and Best Buy's SW:TCS online are also at $99.99. For the moment that is! So given a choice, a regular Amazon customer is probably going to spend that $100 bucks here on Amazon.
I was finally about this get this set for $70, but as CAMREBIRTH said, it's back at $99,99. The only reason I'm passing on the Region 2 release (EU) is because it doesn't have as nice a packaging as the US release. If only PlanetAxel reduced their price I could get it there without having to fear import taxes.
