Over 300 4th graders from five Milwaukee schools are participating in SHARP Literacy’s "Create Art with Code" program this school year. The 16-session program teaches students the basics of coding and design-thinking. It culminates in a Design Challenge where students work in teams to identify a problem in their school or community and create a solution through coding and design. Over 90% of these students reside in Milwaukee’s most distressed neighborhoods and qualify for free or reduced price meals. The Design Challenge project requires art supplies that not all schools have available. SHARP is collecting donations at our office from now until April 15.
