We are in Spartanburg SC. PomRescue.com was started over 15 yrs ago as there was no SC Pomeranian rescue. We rescue 1-4 at a time. We do this out of our home and occasionally have good friends to foster. There are no employees, no salaries and no over head. All the money donated goes to pay for vetting, shelter pull fees, dog supplies, dog food, and expenses incurred running the rescue(ie web site costs, cleaning supplies, office supplies, etc ) We rescue the neediest, which are usually the seniors, blind, deaf, blind & deaf, the crippled, abused and puppymill rescued. Rarely do we have young dogs or puppies(unless they are special needs) Our adopters are mostly repeat adopters and they have become like family to us. We also try to mentor and support others that are interested in starting a Pomeranian rescue in their area. I do not think there can be too many of us! We look fwd to the day when there is no need for a Pomeranian rescue, and believe that educating people is part of the answer to the problem of homeless animals. In this day of internet access, ignorance can no longer be an excuse for doing the wrong thing or for doing nothing. We are a 501C3 non profit.
