After about a week, the first unit would only charge my phone to about 20% and they shipped me a new one which I thought was great and this one charged my phone to 100% plus TWICE maybe THRICE but at the moment the my order was 32 days old(not returnable) the charging ability dropped to 20% like the first one.
The guy I was communicating with at I-blazon (Colin Webster <colin.webster@i-blason.com>) no longer replies to my emails and I'm kinda angry
DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT
The single page product "manual" is virtually impossible to read. The text size is minuscule and even with my reading glasses on. Fortunately, it's fairly easy to understand. Outstanding questions still are:
1) Will USB charge the phone and the external battery at the same time? Not mentioned in manual!
2) How do you know it's fully charged? I'm guessing that when the five lights are on, it's fully charged? The manual explains it but you can't see the diagram!
Electrically looks fine so far and I will be using it but those people creating the instruction sheet could do a much better job!

First, you must watch the video on the website in order to use this case, as the instructions were never written in english and apparently google was used for the translation. I liked the design of the case and it charged fine according to the LED lights on back. However, when I went to use it the first time, it only took my phone battery from 28% to 54% before it stopped. When I plugged the case back in, the lights on back indicated the case was already 4/5 full. Again tried to use it, but got the same results...over and over again. The battery in this may be 1.5 times the size of the iphone's, but if you can't use it, it's worthless.
PROs : looks, sturdiness, and price
CONs : Only charges phone 20%, poor instructions, headphone jack is recessed so you have to use a plug that is long and thin, would not charge properly using Apple's lightning to 30-pin adapter

I recommend this iPhone5 case.
My primary objective was to find a case with external battery. I have had issues with past phones running out of battery before the end of an afternoon, so this was very important to me.
Next, I wanted a good hard case to protect my iPhone with the following properties: that it would easily slip in and out of my pocket and that the side and top buttons would not be obstructed. On other cases I have tried, moving the phone in and out of my suit jacket pocket would be hampered, at times resulting in my dropping it at inconvenient moments. Additionally, with these cases the top and side buttons would be difficult to use, especially if I wanted to fine-tune the volume.
This case surpasses all the above criteria.
The external battery helps keep my phone charged a lot more than I expected - it now stays at 100% full charge all day. Where I previously had concerns when traveling and the charge level, I don't any more!
The hard case is good looking, a nice soft white, almost opalescent color. It protects all the back and lower corners very well, leaving the top corner open to operate the top and side buttons at will and with ease. The side "grips" prevent the phone screen from making contact with a surface when set face-side down, too, an extra measure of protection.
I don't think you would have anything to lose and much to gain by checking this out.

The apple-styled headphone splitter (by XTG Technology) is the only adapter that will fit the IPhone 5 even with the i-blazon PowerSlate Plus iPhone 5 Rechargeable External Battery Slim Fit Case 2800 mAh Super Pack. This was a costly expense buying a dozen headphone cable's but this is the only one that will fit and allow you to use and headphone or earbud you want. I didn't like apples "new earbuds" and my $700.00 Shure earbuds would not fit until I found this splitter plus two people can now share your iTunes album. I-blazon should include and adapter other wise they will be getting LOT'S OF RETURNS. Mine was about to be returned until I found these, now I'm a happy listener. I would expect Apple to screw us over with it's firewrie and earphone change. Send them the empty box coated with "lube" with a note telling them where they can stick it if you know what I mean. Hope this helps all of us who have been frustrated with the changes. Apple doesn't even sell and adapter on their web site. I bought the other battery case (Max Boost) but like this one better it will work but you need two cables instead just the fire wire. Trust me I worked very hard to find this adapter and a lot of money. WHY CAN'T I-BLASON include a cable like this, there sales will increase, with less refunds.

Surprisingly works better than I thought!! I bought one that came broken but the company immediately replaced it free of charge (after a few emails back and forth) but they were very nice about it. And the second one actually works pretty good!! It doesn't really give me a full charge but gives me about 2/3 recharged battery which is not bad considering how fast the iPhone battery dies AND can't beat that for the price. I recommend it!!

Complete and total garbage. If it were possible to give negative stars i would've. I was so excited finding a battery case at such a cheap price... Well I guess the saying lives on, you get what you pay for. I had it (the battery case) charged and my phone was fully charged as well when I attached the two. Within five hours, the case drained my phone battery by more than half. When I contacted iBlason and said their product was garbage they told me to keep the one I had and they would send out a new one at no charge IF I agreed not to post a bad review. That's against my standards. You as the consumer deserve to hear/ read any comments in a product, good or bad. I'm not a shady person as is seems this company is. Save your money and spend it somewhere else.
