***This review is for the 3 port USB 3.0 + 1 RJ45 Ethernet IC-HR004 hub***

A little larger than I expected but it does what it says. It is not powered so you can't plug 3 bus-powered hard drives in and expect it to work.

My only problem is iClever does not have a good web site and has neither drivers or documentation available for download. There is no mention of the chipset used for ethernet in any documentation. It took a little digging but for those interested my unit came with a Realtek RTL8153 gigabyte usb ethernet chipset. Drivers can be downloaded from Realtek's web site at www.realtek.com.tw, do a quick search for USB Ethernet and you should find them. CD supplied had drivers 8 months out-of-date. Drivers _are_ required for Windows (any version), MacOS and Linux picked it up and ran with it just fine (Linux uses r815x kernel module).

Transfer speeds were good with my limited testing.

I would recommend this to anyone looking for a cheap, portable combined USB hub and ethernet port, great for laptops that don't have an ethernet port already in them like ultrabooks or MacBook Airs.

Received product in correct time. But the drivers come on a small-format CD-ROM, which only works if the computer you are installing it into has a CD ROM, which many of the new systems do not. Furthermore, this product can't be found to download drivers on the iclever/HisGadget website, which is graphically pleasing but the IC-004 does not appear on it.

Initially, I tried plugging it in with a live RJ-45 hardwired ethernet connection, and it didn't work (no surprise, I suppose: no drivers). But when I unplugged it, now I can't get to the internet wirelessly either. Nor will it boot now that I've restarted. So there are real issues with installing the product unless you install the drivers first, which i could not do initially with the provided small-format CD.

Edit 1/11: HisGadget contacted me pretty fast on reading this review, and eventually provided me a link to the driver file required for the product. I was a bit lazy getting to it, but finally downloaded them onto a USB flash drive, and installed them on the Win8.1 computer. Install went smoothly, and the device worked within seconds of being plugged in with the proper driver preinstalled.

Amended review to 3 stars - you'll need to get a usable driver file or somehow get the one on the CD to your computer FIRST. If you can do that, it seems a fine product.

Works with FireTV! While I've enjoyed the FireTV, I've found that some of the program I use on it are choked by the 100 megabit port (like the HD Homerun View app), and I'd tried a couple of other USB LAN connectors without success. It seems the Android software doesn't have drivers for a lot of the different USB gigabit products. This one was on sale and I figured even if it didn't work, I'd still have 3 USB 3.0 ports, but lo and behold, the Fire recognizes not only the USB but the gigabit port, which helps with the throughput from other parts of my network, including the HD Homerun View app. On the app, HD channels are actually watchable, including DRM channels in HD.

I bought this to go with my Surface Pro 3. I travel often, and Hotel wireless is often useless in places where the ethernet connection is just fine. This is about the size of many USB Ethernet adapters, but also gives me 3 USB ports to use for other stuff (cameras, mouse, ...).

The device works without driver installation and has yet to give me any trouble: All USB devices and every ethernet connection I used it with worked flawlessly.

This is a great little device! I bought this for my Wife's new Dell laptop that does NOT have a RJ-45 connector. This laptop is used mostly at home and Wi-Fi is just too slow as she uploads a lot of pictures to shutterfly. I just plugged the iClever device into a USB 3.0 port and the machine now has Giga-Bit internet over our LAN not to mention 3 new USB Ports which is great since the iClever used the last 3.0 port on the machine. I didn't even have to load the Mini-CD software as Win 8.1 recognized it and loaded drivers straight away. Now when she wants to travel with the machine she just unplugs and takes off no worry about syncing files.

The device works fine but my MacBook system profile says it is a USB 2.0 Hub and not 3.0 despite 3.0 being written all over it. I haven't bothered to investigate if its speeds are consistent with 2.0 or 3.0.

The connection speeds for all the ports are very fast! With the ethernet port, I clocked speeds of up to 90mbps on a service bundle that says 75mbps. The cord could be a little more longer and more flimsy, but overall, the product does excellent at what it is supposed to do!

Does what it says on the box! Small and light, easy to carry around. Would be nice if the tail cable folded over a bit more, but very useful. Linux users may need to check they have the right kernel module, but it does work with Linux.
