Addendum 7/19/2015. The iGage still cuts crisp, clean lines. The mortise cutter, however does not lock squarely to the post. What this means is that the lines to scribe the tenon will wobble during placement. It was annoying but did not prevent me from marking my tenons.
The problem came when I ordered the second gage 2 weeks ago. Out of the package the screw that locks the fence onto the shaft was too short and the gage would not lock. I returned it immediately. This was pretty clearly a manufacturing problem. I still use my original gage without issue. I don't use the mortise gage. I have upgraded to another manufacturer for that. As an entry-level marking gage, though this does the trick. Be sure to inspect it carefully on arrival.
The brass guide is a bit on the small side as well, so unless you have a perfectly square sanded edge (no rounded 2x4 edges), the guide slips a bit. It could be reworked with some locktite (for the marking wheel screw and a large diameter washer, etc. to increase the diameter of the brass guide.
Update after four months: dropping rating to 2 stars. For only a few dollars more, you can get a much sturdier, longer lasting marking gauge from other well known sellers. Don't bother with this one.
The beam, fence, and thumbscrew are all quality though made in China. Make sure the setscrews are up before sliding the miter cutters around or taking them on/off because if they are in too far they can scrape the beam and remove valuable markings.
