I can tell you right now if you're looking solely for a speaker for an audio device, don't buy this product. You won't find full, rich bass or in-depth sound mixing here.
However, if you're looking for a high-end alarm clock, this is the product for you. It's a very versatile piece of hardware. It contains an AUX jack, USB port, and Bluetooth. I've tried all three slots on my unit, and they were all working as you'd expect. Despite being labeled as an "iHome" product, this clock should work (should is the key word here; there are always exceptions) with most devices with the ability to use the three connectors mentioned earlier. From my experience, the USB port will only charge devices and not relay sound.
Aside from plentiful connections, the clock is also loaded with features. You can set multiple alarms for varying times. There is a FM/AM radio with the option to program favorites. There is also a "nap" button for those who like to fall asleep with sound. You can set a timer that will automatically shut off the sound ensuring the clock isn't on all night. The clock also feels durable. It's sturdy and doesn't feel cheap.
Now for the sound. As I mentioned earlier, this is NOT an in-home audio solution, but that doesn't necessarily mean the sound is bad. In fact, it is good... for a clock radio. The sound is clean and crisp, which makes it good enough for casual listening as you lay in bed reading, working, etc. There are some EQ options, and they're good for slight variations in the sound but don't really make enough difference to make this a legitimate home speaker.
In the end, if you're looking for a high-end alarm clock radio with versatility and features, this product is for you. If you want enough audio quality to entertain guests or for extreme listening, look elsewhere.
As for the sound, the sound is great. Not a lot of deep base, but for the size it sounds pretty good.
Do not try to wake up to your own music from Bluetooth. The Bluetooth functionality in this is miserable. If you turn the alarm clock off (Bluetooth stereo), then as soon as your phone makes any king of noise (alert, mail received, etc.) the Bluetooth alarm clock turns back on again. So if you walk around your house and depend on the sound of your phone, do not connect it to your phone. So that leads to waking up with Bluetooth music, well you would have to turn it on at night before you go to sleep and set which song you want to be played, and leave it paused overnight. It really is cumbersome.
The standard alarm sound works just fine, although I would prefer the Bluetooth music, but it just too difficult each night.
Now....ABOUT THAT CELL PHONE "ALWAYS ON" THING.....it took me a few days of scratching my head.... but I FIGURED IT OUT! I didn't really KNOW how to use my own phone with Bluetooth settings! When pairing with my Samsung Galaxy 3, all I did was "pair it". I NEVER REALIZED THERE IS A "GEAR" SYMBOL FOR SETTINGS! I tried calling myself...reading the manual, swiping the Galaxy screen....stairing at the iHome radio....at least 10 times.... before.....Duh. I ACCIDENTALLY touched a little "GEAR" icon to the right of the paired device on my phone. WHADAYAKNOW! These settings contain "RENAME", UNPAIR", "CALL AUDIO on/off", "MEDIA AUDIO on/off". Guess which one I switched to OFF"? Bingo. "Problem" solved. Try it! I'm a genius! :)

Pros: Great sound quality, easy to use, bonus that it has pairing with NFC,two custom alarms (radio, bluetooth, buzzers (has more than one!), USB charging, AUX in, easy to view screen, lowest screen brightness is not too bright at night, accept and decline calls... I can go on and on
Cons: I wish the bottom feet could be easily removed
Only possible thing that could have made this product any better is Qi charging on the top.
The display is nice and large. And brightness is variable.
I ended up using it just as a clock display and tablet holder. And I use another speaker system for the sound.
