UPDATED UPDATED REVIEW
The replacement for my defective soundbar (see below) came DOA. Obviously, quality control is a problem with this product. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

UPDATED REVIEW
After 6 months, the soundbar stopped working properly. The mode (Bluetooth, AUX, FM, Optical) would randomly switch every few minutes. I called the iLive customer service and the representative admitted that he has heard of this problem. They're going to ship me a new one, but who knows how long it will last . . .

ORIGINAL REVIEW
I bought this sound bar for about $80 (including S/H). It greatly improves the sound coming out of my TV in a medium-sized family room. The Bluetooth connectivity and FM radio are added bonuses. It was easy to set up and is controllable by my TV's remote.

Will this sound bar have the sound quality of a $300 unit? Of course not. If you're looking for an inexpensive way to improve your TV's sound, however, this is a great option.

I am very pleased with this iLive Bluetooth Sound Bar. Not only does it make my HD TV sound much better, it also has a built-in FM Radio. I can also stream my favorite music from my iPad using the Bluetooth function.

I works just as it's supposed to. We use the Bluetooth and the FM. It sounds great.
The remote is nice, but I prefer a larger one, and you have the option to use another one.
Only wishes:
It would be even better if you could program individual presets ( but it does a good job of finding all the stations, and then you cycle through them).
2. finer volume control steps.
But, excellent value.

I bought this sound bar 3 weeks ago and its perfect for my 55" flat screen. The sound fills my 800 sq ft basement. Movies and sports sounds really good and clear as well as video games. Sub woofer option is good also

Cant really complain about a soundbar under $100. All features work fine, and has plenty of sound to fill a room (Or my apartment). Only gripe is that I lost the remote the first day (damn thing is so small), but that is user error.

OH, when mounted to the wall, the coaxial and digital hook-ups are pretty close to the wall, so it pintches the cables just a tad.

Ok so my heading is a bit strong but give me just a second. I spent weeks pouring over all the sound bars on Amazon looking for one that had treble and bass adjustments and a sub out. I was not so concerned over the length as it was for a custom sound system and not a TV. I also did not need one that would be very heavy on the bass as I was adding my own sub. From the pictures and some of the reviews It seemed to be decent quality and for the price I decided to take a chance. For Amazon's part the unit shipped very quickly from K.Y. It arrived and I was very excited to get it out and playing. So I unbox the Sound bar. It was packed well. The first thing I noticed was the remote. Yes many have talked about it and it was not a surprise but dang it was small. The next thing is build quality, This is the kind of plastic you would see on any cheap Dollar Store merchandise. The buttons on the side are very flimsy and poor quality. So I pull out all the cords and the first thing I notice is the power cord. Truly my cordless beard trimmer has a heavier power cable, and that was very disheartening. Then the RC cords. My dollar store would be embarrassed to sell these. So after getting it all put together and hooked up I thought I would play it just by it's self to check out the sound quality. Now to be fare I was not looking for high fidelity but what a bummer. I am normally using a pair of Regent powered speakers from like 1980 that are only 5" x 3" and they sound like the king compared to this thing. There is no separation from left to right even using the RC jacks. It sounds like it is just one speaker instead of left and right stereo. The sound was very dull and not vibrant at all. So I fiddle with the sound with the remote and it just keeps getting worse.Read more ›

Connected with a Toslink cable and now the speaker works fine. Connected with the cables that came with it, I had tv speakers and soundbar at the same time. If you have a Optical Toslink outlet on your tv, that is the best way to go. I bought this soundbar because when I watched Netflix or Amazon movies, the sound wasn't loud enough. Now I have to turn it down.

My girlfriend got a TV that has a great picture but lacks sound quality - my TV's hooked up to my stereo so I admit I'm a bit spoiled in this regard. I got this at Sears and now her system is 100% fine. We tested with various types of music and this sound bar has good bass and clear highs. Individual instruments were lost with complex loud music that my more expensive system handles but the sound was overall enjoyable even then. We love the ability to stream music from our phones!

After reading the reviews about reliability I'll consider returning it and getting a different one through Amazon.
