I bought this CF card reader for my gf who is a professional photographer. It works with my iPad2 and easily lets you import jpg's to preview on an iPad2. It is a good option if you need a CF card reader for iPad2. It imported jpg's out of the box, but not raw images. There may be an app or way to import raw, but I have not investigated it yet.

This is so essential if you shoot on CF cards and use an iPad for storage and editing. For some reason, Apple doesn't sell this card reader and they should, but this product is perfect. also good price from this seller and fast shipping.

This device came with NO directions. Seems pretty simple. Just plug it into your Ipad with your flash card in it and there you are. It crashed and took the flash card with it. Fortunately I had backed up everything so I did not lose all of my pictures. However, 16gig flash cards are not cheap. I tried to format the card and it would not format. I contacted San disk and they said that it must be "fried" and could do nothing. Operator error? I have no idea but I do know that I lost a flash card and if not backed up would have lost a lot of photos. I would love it if the mfg would contact me and tell me what happened.

Took the iPad on its very first vacation, and ONLY the iPad, with my Nikon D300 and 2 8 gig CF cards. Luckily, there's iCloud, because I just about filled both 8 gig cards. Transferring files to the iPad was very hit and miss. At times it worked well, but would then stall, and just disconnect.

From time to time I'd get an error message which said "this device is not supported" etc.. which was really just an inconvenience more than anything, since all I had to do was disconnect and reconnect it. Problem was, I had to do this far too often, including in the middle of a transfer.

First and last time with that product. Back it went. Next time (which is in less than 2 weeks) I'll be bringing the MacBook Pro along as well.

Item arrived in good condition and works...sometimes.

When you plug it in and it displays pictures on the Ipad2, when you hit "import all" it starts importing but if you have more than a few pictures, after 10-20 it either just stops (with no warning or error) or gives a message saying it is "incompatiable with this device". You can get all your pictures by just hitting "import all" again or plugging it in again but kind of a pain and it takes a lot of time. If there were other choices out there of similar cost, I would try them first....

also, you can only see thumbnails of the pictures before you actually import them so hard to tell a good picture from a bad one before you import.

I purchased it for an iPad 2...

Pros:
- Reads both I and II CF cards*
- Looks and feels durable

Cons:
- Does not read 32 GB capacity cards ( * I tried an 8 GB capacity and it read it. I can't vouch for 16 GB or higher than 32 GB cards)
- Connection looks unsecure when plugged in and feels like it may pop-off
- Will not connect if you have an iPad case
