I'd like to emphasize that these invaluable gems are not read cover-to-cover by me, but consulted to answer numerous questions that arise as I use the particular item. Yes, I know, for free yet, you can go on-line, Google it, and get enough potential answer sites to peruse for a lifetime. How to choose which one?
That's where "Dummies" fits so nicely. Well indexed, logical chapter titles, excellent layout, pictures and diagrams, not to mention good cartoons, I find "Dummies" is the fastest and best way to get that elusive bit of info -- now. This book is no exception. The iPhone 4S is an incredible piece of electronics gear, playground, GPS, info source, news dispenser, etc., etc., etc. To even begin to navigate beyond its many basic capabilities I have found "Dummies 4S" invaluable -- and I have been using an iPhone almost since its inception. In other words, "Dummies" scores again. Thanks!
This one was written before IOS7, so some of the descriptions and diagrams do not coincide with the I-Phone 4S IOS7.
After hours of trying to get my I-Mac's e-mail to sync with the I-Phone, and with steam coming out of my ears, I went to the Apple Communities and found a comment from two years ago that the mail will not sync if the server is using a POP account. Which mine is (Time Warner's Roadrunner. n.b. Roadrunner will upgrade this account by the end of May 2014). Bingo.
