Roomba 650 does the vacuuming for you. The robot utilizes AeroVac Technology, maximizing air flow through its cleaning head to pull hair and debris off the brushes and into the bin evenly. Perfect for homes with pets or without, Roomba cleans deep to pick up dirt, hair, fur, and other debris. The newly designed larger bin requires emptying less often and the innovative composition of the robot’s longer-lasting brushes allows it to handle fibers such as hair more effectively, making maintenance quicker and easier than ever. Roomba can easily be scheduled to clean whenever you want—up to seven times per week. The included Virtual Wall confines the robot to specific rooms and areas and Roomba automatically returns to its Home Base to dock and recharge between cycles. All you have to do is press “Clean” and let the robot do the work. Included: iRobot Roomba 650 Robot, Grey (factory reconditioned) 1 virtual wall (Takes 2 C batteries, not included) battery (installed) charging dock power cable 1 filter (installed) brush cleaning tool user manual full 90 day manufacturer warranty.

She only lasted just over 2 months. I put in a ticket with Roomba, but I've heard I'm wasting my time. We'll see.
3/15/2016 - iRobot customer service absolutely floored me. They are wonderful! They worked with me trying to resuscitate Dorothy with no luck. They even sent a new battery thinking the old battery was bad. That wasn't it. Then I finally found the problem. The parts that hold the hex nuts where the retaining screws fit to secure the bottom cover were deteriorating. The hex nuts spun loosely therefore not allowing the screws to secure the cover. Because of this, the battery would not sit securely in place. It seemed to me a design flaw so I sent pictures informing iRobot. They must have agreed because they sent a brand new unit! Not just replacing but upgrading to the next series!!! We're trying her out now and she's already had to be emptied twice! I have never seen this level of customer service anywhere. So, if you buy one, do so with confidence.
11/16/2016 Final update: I was reminded to update my star ratings (thanks) so I have. Thought while here I'd do a final update. Dorothy II has been earning her pay. Haven't had any issues at all with her. It does seem she responded better to objects in her way at first, but she mostly bangs into things...Not all the time, but most of the time. I've washed her eyes out (cleaned the IR sensors with alcohol) but that didn't seem to help much. Can't fault her too much for that...I'd run into things too if I didn't have my glasses on, but they haven't made glasses for the ol' girl yet.
The only feature I wish Dorothy had, and the higher-end models may have something like this, would be an SOS alert! Dorothy can spend well over an hour cleaning, and we forget about her. Then we notice she never went back to bed. Knowing she probably strayed too far away or got stuck somewhere, we'd have to get a search party and look all over the house for her. It would really be helpful if she had a way of letting us know where she was!
I now understand what everyone why everyone was saying - Where is all of this dirt coming from.
I'm very baffled at how much stuff it continues to pick up, even after two weeks of being used every day. My place was clean before.. but wow! It's wonderful!
I keep the base in my bedroom, under the bed. it has free room in my 1050sq ft place. 2 bedrooms, bath rooms, kitchen, living room.. etc. It does a great job covering all of my floor, and most of the time, gets back to its dock. I could set the dock more central.. But I like it hidden. Plus, when roomba is passed out from all that booze, it's out of sight!
It's nearly perfect. It's drunk sometimes...
It has trouble getting on and off rugs on occasion. Especially my rug with a black border. It's a 2x6 by my wall, so it's not really taking up space in the room. It won't go on that one, but I have a few others it tolerates. And it's kinda like a drunk puppy. Always getting into something it shouldn't. But it's conditioned me to clean up daily before I leave, so that it doesn't eat my homework.
It's collision detection works on bigger objects - Slowing down to gently nudge said object. But smaller things like leg corners, and bed posts, it tends to ram them with it's entire .3 hp. So violent.
It doesn't like my swivel chair (the kind with the flat base). It gets stuck on it every now and then for 30 seconds... but eventually frees itself.
...I've never gotten any animals drunk for the record.
100% worth it!
***update.. (And no, I'm not here to fix my horrible grammar or punctuation. I accept that I'm flawed)
I just wanted to mention something I did to improve the quality of my roomba.
I took some of that strip foam tape and put it on the front. When it sees a wall, it slows a few inches before it and would make a light tap. Well, now it makes no tap, or noise. The foam is also great for legs and posts that aren't picked up by the sensor. (since it isn't picked up, it doesn't slow down and brace for impact)
Now it has a softer impact and is less likely to damage itself or anything else.
So far, I haven't noticed any damage to any of my stuff (other than the tread marks it leaves on my chrome/nickel swivel chairs. (cleanable) but I have noticed a few love marks on roomba. I live in an apartment so the paint went on thick, and it's probably isn't the highest quality.
Just make sure if you try this, don't cover the sensor area that allows roomba to see.
This machine has solved our problem and has saved us allot of work.
Great quality product and company that stand behind their products.
