It is so nice to have an FM transmitter that works! I was apprehensive at first because the last time, several years ago, I went down the FM transmitter route it did not go well. The sound was horrible no matter what brand. Being that this item interrupts the antenna it sounds great. Like some others have said, it is not CD quality sound but it is still very good. You will probably need to play with your volume on mp3 device/phone until you find that sweet spot. I also raised the treble slightly on my car radio. As far as pairing, I do not lose my connection with the radio at all while driving. Whenever I get in the car, I put it on the station that I have designated using the iSimple App, and press play on my phone. It connects within a few seconds.

Setup was easy. Although the instructions are good that come with it, I will give you my novice experience.
Step 1. Unplug car battery
Step 2. Pull radio out
Step 3. Do a google search of your vehicle to find the radio wiring diagram. Locate the Power (non constant).
Step 4. Temporarily reconnect battery and use a volt meter to see what your readings are. It should be 12V when the car is in the on position and 0V when the car is off. Being that the pin holes are pretty small I pressed a paperclip in the wire adapter to make it easier. Unplug battery again after testing.
Step 5. Cut and splice the Power (non constant) wire and attach the red wire from isimple. I used a butt splice and wrapped it with electrical tape.
Step 6. Connect your ground (black) wire to part of the frame of the car. For my Nissan Altima this was easy. There was a metal bar connected to frame right next to the radio that had holes already predrilled from the factory. I just found a bolt and nut that fit in it and wrapped the wire around it. (Seems to work fine. I do not hear any whirring sound when driving.)
Step 7. Intercept the car antenna wire with the isimple antenna wire. Some have needed adapters but it was a perfect fit for my car.
Step 8. If you are using the App as I am, make sure to slide the small lever to the correct position. I believe it is the far left if I remember right.
Step 9. Find a place to put the module that does not obstruct any of the paneling when reinstalling. I used some stick on velcro and adhered it to the top/back of the radio.
Step10. Reconnect battery and test before putting everything back together. Turn power on in your car. Under bluetooth on your device you should see iSimple come up on your list. You may need to refresh. If you still do not see it you may need to power cycle the car again. Pair the devices. If you are using the App, see what station you have set to (this can be adjusted) and set the radio to that station. Press play on player. You should have sound.
Step11. Reassemble paneling.

In all, it took about 45min-1hr to install.

Note: I did not use the on/off toggle switch that they supply you with. It is an option if you want to use it but works just fine without it.

I will update if there any issues come up but so far so good.

I put this in a 2005 subaru legacy. Also had to buy this antenna adapter Metra 40-SB30 Antenna Adapter for Subaru FM Modulator. It was easy to install.

I have a Moto X android phone. The only problem was it was hard to sync up to my phone. To get it to work I actually have to do these steps.

- Download the Tranzit Blu iSimple app (Not the HF app, it is pointless and doesn't work)
- Turn on car and tune radio to 107.9
- Turn on bluetooth on phone
- Start playing music on your phone
- Open iSimple App and keep tuner at 107.9
- Turn off bluetooth on phone
- Go back to iSimple App, it will ask you to turn bluetooth back on. Say yes.
- Click the Off button on iSimple App.
- Click the On button on iSimple App
- Radio should now pick up the music playing from your phone

I purchased this because I do not want to buy an aftermarket stereo. I have a Subaru Forester '04 and the stock audio system has a subwoofer in the trunk. Changing to an aftermarket HU will make me lose the subwoofer. I got this almost for free because I used my rewards. It is easy to install this but it was hard to remove my car trim. I think I made a few scratches. Sheeesh. Lesson learned: cover sharp edges! I did not use the power button because I did not want to make a hole on my trim. When I finally got everything in place, I found out that my phone, an old Pantech Crossover, would not work with it. The bluetooth pairs with it but won't connect. I tried my wife's LG and my son's iPhone 4 and both worked!... except for my old trustworthy Pantech Crossover. I called Tech Support and they confirmed this. So, I guess I have to change to a newer phone to be able to use this unit. The cost of buying a new phone would have allowed me to buy a better car stereo, plus using my rewards I could have also got an underseat subwoofer. This unit is a great product! But, I wish that it would accommodate any phone with bluetooth, old or new. When I tried my wife's and son's phones, the audio quality was good enough for me.

Good concept, sound quality, and ease to install! However, after the trouble of installing and scratching some trim and findoing out that it won't work with my phone... I give it 3 stars.

Time to shop for a new phone!

Update:
I got an LG Optimus L9 2 weeks ago. It pairs, connects, but after a few minutes of playing Pandora, no sound would come out of it. I tried my son's iPhone, same results. What's disappointing is that I can't return the item anymore because it is already past the 30-day return.
