<*Edit: I bought a new phone recently, a Samsung Intercept, which has a 3.5mm jack which is slightly recessed. This cable is too wide to be inserted fully. In light of discovering this new problem I removed one star from my review.>
I bought this to use in my car for audio from cellphones and mp3 players. Because such devices produce such a weak audio signal I usually have to turn the car stereo up loud to hear them at a normal volume; this amplifies the static.
At first I was put off by the lack of strain reliefs, but on further consideration, the wire is rather thick and anything that would stress it would break the connector. I can't detect any static using this cable, which is more than I can say of cheaper cables I have used. Both of my past cables produced audible static, especially at low volumes. One connector I used started to fail after a while as well, steadily producing worse static as it degraded.
I don't recommend buying cheap 3.5mm cables; this one will serve you much better <unless you have a device like mine, in which case it won't work at all>.
