Nice candy apple red! Beautiful to look at. Easy to install. Keeps dirty fingers from contaminating the roll, my primary reason for obtaining this product (Dirty fingers i.e. raw meat/fish coated fingers).
Weak sensor, I need to get like an inch away from the sensor to activate it. Some uneven towel dispensing but I've not experienced frustration because of it, meaning it's been a minor annoyance so far, not a chuck it out the window frustration.
Sideways. The base is bolted to a side of a cabinet with the dispensing bar facing the user.
Also has issues seeing you move your hand across it. Must look really stupid trying to get it to activate. Waving up and down, back and forth, hand wide open or not...nothing seems to consistently help.
Should go for a manual dispenser!
My iTouchless Towel-Matic II arrived on Friday and my husband and I have spent the week-end using it. First problem we encountered was that the batteries were not making good connection with the internal workings. My husband then realised that once the screw cap is open (to insert the batteries) there is a little piece of metal that needs gentle adjustment so that it makes good connection with the batteries. For those of you who are having trouble with the Towel-Matic, try giving that little piece of metal a gentle adjustment.
Next problem is that the Towel-Matic is very temperamental about the paper towel it will "accept". The Towel-Matic does not appear to like ribbed paper towel; it jams the machine. We tried four different kinds of paper towel before finding one that worked. The one that works the best for us is a Scott brand shop towel (color blue) that we purchased from Costco in Melbourne, Australia (11 inches x 10.4 inches). That particular paper towel is made in the U.S.A. so you may be able to buy at your Costco stores. As the Towel-Matic was probably designed for use in the United States, I can't complain too much.
Our Towel-Matic is now functioning quite well. We have it upright on our counter top.
The Towel-Matic is not a time saver but that said, as a gadget lover I have to say that I do like it now that we are over the teething problems.
