One thing to note, if you aren't totally familiar with the Happy Planner, each of the 5 cover designs has a different design inside, so I recommend doing a Google search for "Happy Planner insides" and you'll find a short video detailing the inside view of each. You'll really want to make your choice based on the inner design rather than the outer, since you can switch the covers but it's the inside you're committing to until the end of 2016. 😊
It features monthly spreads with a column for notes. The weekly spreads feature three vertical boxes per day covering the morning, afternoon, and evening. I know some people cover these with washi tape or stickers to customize, but those categories do not bother me. The bottom of each page either has faux washi tape or an inspirational quote.
The paper quality is thicker than printer paper with minimal bleed from highly pigmented pens. Each month has a different color scheme and design on the divider page.
I've never owned an arc-based notebook but I can certainly see the appeal after holding this in my hands. It allows you the customization of a three-ring binder or A5 six-ring planner with the ease of a spiral-bound notebook. You can either use a compatible hole puncher or a single hole punch with scissors to insert pages into the planner. With a pinch, they're easy to take out, too.
This is an excellent and affordable alternative to the ever-popular Erin Condren planners.
I wasn't completely sure I'd like the disks used to hold the pages, but they seem stable and I've found it's nice to be able to remove pages to decorate or move them. I used the main calendar pages to mark birthdays, appointments and normal calendar events and the daily pages are for personal notes, lists, and the like.
This journal is dated with dividers. The spiritual aspect of this particular item is nice without feeling over-the-top. There are bible verses on each calendar as well as on the dividers.
I've used this for a few weeks and know I will be using a Happy Planner for years to come.
I do have suggestions; I would love if the expansion disks came in Silver because I wanted to add the budget pack to my planner but it made it just a little too hard to use but the larger "expansion" disks that would allow me to add more pages weren't offered in silver.
Although I gave this a full five stars there is one thing I absolutely hated: the way the cover is designed it looks like It says "But first Gob" I'm not kidding. Did no one else see that?!
I'm not a crafty person but changed the cover using washi tape and a sticker because it really bothered me
