I've played and thoroughly enjoyed the first two games in the franchise and was eagerly awaiting the third iteration. In fact, the reason I purchased a PS4 in its infancy state was for this game. I'm glad my purchase was not in vain.

I've completed the game as a hero in expert mode. The AI in expert is great. Although the story is pretty straight forward, it's still good. Out of the three games in the franchise, this is the least challenging but still fun. I've begun to play the evil side of the game and will update my review once I've finished it.

1. Visually, this is the best looking game for the current generation of consoles.
2. Thus far, the story is engaging and I'm really enjoying the dialog. The voice acting is incredible. I really like the main character, he comes off as very believable. The first two games hosted Cole as the main character. He was dark even when playing as a hero. Delsin is the opposite and it works for me because too much of the same gets boring and he just fits very well.
3. The open world based on Seattle is gorgeous and full of life.
4. The gameplay is comparable to the first two in the series but smoother and more refined. The new powers are fresh and fantastic. Touch pad, controller speaker, and motion controls are implemented and it works extremely well.

Simply put, I'm having a blast with this game and that's what is important.

Two weeks before the game launched, I created an account on a site called infamouspapertrail.com. Paper Trail is a site created by Sucker Punch that links to Infamous Second Son. A few days before the game lunched, I received a packet containing some sensory items and postcards. The instructions pointed me to the Paper Trail site and directed to take a test.

Just got my collectors edition. I was a huge fan of the gameplay in inFAMOUS 2 and Sucker Punch has done an amazing job with the fluidity of the gameplay. Visually this is by far one of the most beautiful games I have ever seen with a phenomenal color pallet. The lighting is something really incredible (especially at night with the neon). I've still got a lot to go before I've finished but my initial impressions are quite positive. Bravo Sucker Punch for a job well done!

If you've unfamiliar with inFamous, the concept is the coolest thing you could ask for in a game. Every inFamous game is a sandbox with endless freedom, like GTA, but you've got super powers. While other super hero games are limited to established abilities, whatever was introduced in their respective comics, inFamous gives you Cole MacGrath and now Delsin Rowe, characters with completely fresh powers that grow until the game's completion.

inFamous 2, in my opinion was hands down, the best game for the PS3 and my personal favorite game of all time. Suckerpunch provided the aforementioned concept, incredible voice acting, beautiful graphics, great story & characters, finely crafted cut scenes & well written dialogue and fun, fun, fun gameplay. It's a 10. So inFamous Second Son was anticipated with high standards to be met or surpassed.

Upon first hearing Delsin talk, I said to myself, "Oh screw this guy." I immediately missed Cole But as the story progressed, he quickly grew on me. There are definitely aspects to Delsin that make for a far more thrilling character to play. As soon as you get your first power, taking into consideration this is a vast open world sandbox, graphics are absolutely stunning, comparable to Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes. The fire effects, smoke, streets, lights and reflections, all just pop. The variety of people occupying Seattle, however, felt lazy. I saw the same faces over and over again, but I am guessing this was deliberately kept minimal to concentrating efforts where the pay off was obvious. It just becomes noticeable when some of your missions involve looking for people.

I'm big on great music in video games and the score in ISS felt at times like it was trying to be cool. But generally it worked.

I see that a ton of reviews are already up so I will just get to the important details. This game did have a day one patch that added a bunch of content and fixed some things. Expect more DLC and support as I am sure this game is selling well. People have been up in arms over the reviews being from C level to A level. The C's scaring some fans. I have no idea what those reviewers are smoking to be quite honest. And the one star reviews are here are just hilarious.

This is a 9/10 game for this time period. The graphics for a PS4 title in its infancy are pretty damn amazing, even coming from a high-end PC as I do. It's really sweet to see what they are getting out of this machine. Some things are lacking but I'm giving this one a solid 8/10 here and I am very picky about things. The jaggies are pretty minimal and we are getting a decently stable 1080p/30FPS experience. Lighting is wowzers at some points as are some of the city's complexities. I think people looking for more of a toss between the first game and the second will love what they have here.

As for the gameplay I see no reason why this game is a C or average if you will. I am having a blast still playing through it to 100%. Surfing around the city has never felt so good. The people that are being so harsh on this are just typical baiters if you ask me. This IS the best game released this gen so far in my honest opinion. Sure, the missions can be a little repetitive and it's not doing anything wildly new, but I can't tell you how much I have really wanted a next-gen Infamous and that is what this is through and through. Even people who are not at all enamored by the game can at least respect the technical details and the smooth gameplay. NO other game lets you have this much fun in a city with superpowers.
