This fountain is adorable and easy to care for. It doesn't take up much space and I appreciate the pad that goes underneath to prevent moisture from damaging the floor. I wish I could speak to its effectiveness, but alas, how many of us get to watch our cats drink? It seems they go out of their way to do it in private, so I still have not determined whether or not my Sasha is using this fountain. She has another (in addition to 2 bowls of fresh, cold water changed 3 times/day ;)), so unless I put up a hidden camera in front of this fountain, I may never know if she warms up to it. But I do think the streaming water from the flower is a brilliant idea, since most cats prefer to drink moving water. :)
UPDATE: It's been FIVE years since I purchased this fountain and it's still working wonderfully. In my first review, I couldn't tell if Sasha was using it, but I continued to clean it, replace filters and keep it out...just in case. I dispensed with the silicone pad underneath, because I suspect she didn't like stepping on it and it's unnecessary anyway. Finally, about a year ago, she started drinking from it in front of me! I was so gratified that all my hard work had paid off, lol. These days she drinks from it many times/day, and it's her only source of water, even though she has another fountain and two bowls that I change twice/day. When I pick it up to clean once/wk, she stares mournfully at the empty space where it's supposed to be and then at me, to make sure I know she's waiting for me to finish my job.
But I think the pump may be starting to fail, because it took some jiggling TWICE yesterday to get it to work. It would be disastrous if it stopped and we had to go even a couple of days without, so I figured I'd buy another pump as a back-up, but I can't find the one for this specific fountain, or any contact info for the seller, so I'm not sure what to do. I don't need a whole new fountain, just a new pump, but how do I get one? If they're not available, I suppose I'll have to buy a new fountain (I guess it wouldn't be a bad idea to have a brand new one after 5 years, esp since they're not too expensive), but thought I'd first find out if there's a way to get a new pump. My little dollface must stay hydrated, so please advise! Thank you. :)

Great for paw-bapping and hours of entertainment!
My kitten (one and a half years old now but he's still my kitten) loved investigating the stream when I ran the water while brushing my teeth. I started putting the stream really low as not to intimidate him in the time where I stood there brushing my teeth and would normally turn off the water to not waste water, and he had a blast. Thing is, he was NEVER missing a toothbrush morning or evening, and letting the water run here and there is no big deal, but as a new lifestyle change it was bugging my eco-guilt, but I can't bear not to give October the Cat-Toby Toebeans (look him up on Facebook for life updates) everything he wants and fulfill his every whim, so it had me surfing amazon for water fountains hoping I could find one that wouldn't sound like a constant weed eater or old fish tank motor. The reviews and videos on this one seemed promising and didn't look like it would splash all over the place, so I gave it a try. OMG IT'S SO GREAT!!! HE IS OBSESSED WITH IT! It's SO QUIET! Like completely silent, but I know his kitty ears can pick up the pleasant running water noise that their instincts draw them to when looking for fresh clean water sources least likely to make them sick so they can be healthy tigers. He will forget about it for a bit, but then when he's bored my creaky body runs out of energy throwing him twenty toys in a row, he'll go investigate it again. He'll tilt his head and watch it, and it's so freakin' cute, y'all! And then he'll bap it just gently enough not to get water everywhere, and slowly get close and grab some sips. He'll circle it and then just sit there and watch it. I had been worried about him getting enough water to drink and I was leaving little bowls of water everywhere hoping it would encourage him to drink more often, and it kind of worked enough for me to not be worried, but I still wished I had to top the bowls off more often. With this I DO see him at the water enough to know he's not neglecting his kitty water intake, so that's a bonus! It doesn't splash at all, so the mat it comes with is pretty much to prevent kitty bap inspection splashes. I'll add some pictures, but y'all take note that my carpet is NOT that old and dirty or un-vacuumed. When I first tried out the fountain and took pictures, my husband dug out an old bath mat we'd been meaning to throw away, and I put it down just in case Toebeans attacked and knocked it over, but he didn't. Plus I just hung some hanging plant pots over there by it, and it's close to Toby's cat tower, and I had to make sure he wouldn't see it and punch the plants off there and get dirt in the real carpet, so it's over there to temporarily prevent both. So don't judge my dirty carpet in the pics!
