Does the kitchenAid has a stop lever as I have purchased one, and when turned on the switch on the wall for power, its starts,cannot turn off button?

This KitchenAid has a lever switch on the side, numbering 0 to 10. When set on 0 (zero) it is in the Off position, As you go up in numbers the speed goes higher. The 0 position is "off", just slide the power lever back to the Zero.

Yes. The lever that controls the speed has "off" to the extreme left.

It sounds like the 0 to 10 switch may not be turning off all the way. Try moving it several times - if that doesn't work, call customer service at KitchenAid.
