On May 10, 1995 Cynthia Baseman expected to hear that she was in labor. Instead, her doctor told her that her baby girl was dead. Within hours, she delivered a stillborn and life changed completely and forever. Baseman shares her steps toward healing in the memoir, "Love, Mom: A Mother's Journey from Loss to Hope."
Baseman strongly encourages her readers to use the book as inspiration to write about their own traumatic experiences, whether or not they involve the loss of a child. "People shouldn't worry too much about the quality of their writing. The point is to put pen to paper so they can start to make sense of a loss that may seem completely crazy and incomprehensible."
"Love, Mom" has been included in the women's health anthology, "Voices of the Women's Health Movement" by Barbara Seaman.
Baseman blogs at BHMom.com on teen parenting, marriage and life as a mom in the 90210.
Baseman was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. She lives with her husband, two sons and two dogs.
