I think the packaging of the product was quite minimal and well packaged. It held everything you needed pretty neatly inside the box.
Controller/Power: 8
I think for a controller if you are using it for a strip to connect to a wall (which I used it for) the length is fairly appropriate for a typical home with 8 ft ceilings. It is approximately 3 ft from the LED strip connection to the controller and approximately 5 ft-ish from the controller to the end of the receptacle. This allows the placement of the to be at an eye level which is great to also keep out of reach of children (my rambunctious little 2 yo).
The controller could be more useful if we can better control the options or the maybe cycle through the different scenes rather than just predetermined colors. Thus I find the controller itself not very useful for the most part besides being able to turn it on and off.
Connectivity: 9
For the most part it connected fine. Originally I had an issue that required me to restart my phone, then it allowed me to connected. However, I must say their support people are quite responsive, thus I think that's pretty good about standing by your product there. It is still using 2.4 ghz band for the wifi, but for most smart products that's what you're going to get. So keep in mind this utilizes both Bluetooth and WiFi to get connected. I have not lost connectivity and seems to work fairly smoothly with the app otherwise.
LED Strip: 9
These are BRIGHT! I can only imagine what a room would look like with these things fully surrounding it. Even at it's lowest setting, by golly, it's definitely not low enough, I wouldn't have this in a bedroom setting where I'd ever use this as a night light by any means. Color reproduction, I don't think it's any different from many other LEDS where it's pushing all 3 RGBs to produce the WHITE Light, so you aren't going to get any true pure white in my opinion, and would be nice to have the function to adjust the warmth of the white tones.
Application: 9
I think the application is great! It had pretty nifty color wheels and the ability to save the color palettes you like. Heck you can even upload/take a picture and choose a color from it. Otherwise, I think it has all the features that you might look in an app. It supports Google Home (sorry I don't use Alexa or Apple HomeKit) and they also have support for IFTTT. The music functionality, I feel could be improved. I wish I could choose my color palettes for it, otherwise, Auto Color for me.
Adhesives: 8
Between the weight of the controller and the weight of the cord itself, the adhesive doesn't seem to hold it well it enough to the wall. You can see from my photo that it's slightly coming off, and I've even attempted to put on the other extra connect to help with it, however, eventually that gave way too. I would definitely find a better way to reinforce that in which it can help against gravity a bit. Otherwise, the rest of the wall had stuck to it just fine. I wish they were also easier to peel off, I seem to always have a tough time with them.
Overall conclusion: 9.5/10
I'd totally recommend these lights for budget introductory lights. It's definitely better than some of the other brands I've tried and purchased for my 12yo kiddo. Especially when it comes to responsiveness and connectivity with the WiFi and Application. I can't wait to see how their PRO line comes out with the ability to control the lights further/individually.
