I've noticed a few people who reviewed this item here at Amazon.com complaining that the screen cover wouldn't fit or kept falling from the body of the cover. Well, I've received mine yesterday, and, initially, I got a little frustrated, as I had the same problem. But then I started to figure out if I was doing it the right way. And I've found out the answer: I was doing it the wrong way! I was trying to attach the screen cover on the wrong side. It seemed to me at first that I should position the screen cover after having mounted the rest of the cover. This led the screen cover not to attach or fit too much tightly. The right way is to put the screen cover on the inside of the front part facing downwards, and then put your Kindle (faced downwards) on it, then put the back part onto it all and "close" the cover. I've found a video from iPearl explaining how to properly mount it (below I'll show you how to watch this). The video shows the proper order on the mounting of the shell. One thing they didn't focus on the video is the right of the screen cover. There are some very tiny "tabs" that should both the front part of the cover and the screen cover. Try one side, and if it doesn't fit, try the other side. Be aware to the fact that, after having mounted it all, the screen cover won't actually touch the Kindle screen, instead, it'll touch only the very tip of the borders, and will sort of "float" over the Kindle screen itself, though being a little "low-relief" compared to the rest of the cover. I'm not sure if I was clear enough, it seems complicated at first, but in fact it is easier than it seems after you figure out the right way. Hope I could help.Read more ›

I was excited to receive the Clear mCover for my Kindle DX yesterday. See, I had been looking for a cover that protected the device FROM ME when I was reading it at home or on the go...I also wanted something that wasn't visually distractive or covered any of the buttons or ports. It was also important that I find something that I could use with a carrying case. The beauty of it all is that I found that with this product and more! A cute bonus is the stand that extends from the back...perfect for table top reading.

What I'm really excited about is the screen protector. It isn't the typical protector that is available for electronic devices...this protector is the same hard shell that protects the device. And it does so WITHOUT ACTUALLY TOUCHING the screen! See, I was afraid to buy the typical screen protector after reading in a review that it damaged the screen.

The product comes in three pieces (front, back, screen). After carefully snapping the front and back into place, I carefully snapped the screen cover in place and voilá! It was a very easy install.

This product is simply AWESOME...and at only $12! I called my co-worker over, a fellow Kindle owner, so she could check it out and she was so impressed...she bought one right then. (yikes...I sound like a sales rep! LoL)

I don't recommend buying the color covers for the Kindle though. The thought of it gave me a headache, so I'm confident that all of that color surrounding the device while reading would surely cause discomfort. I'm looking forward to buying one of these in a cute color for my laptop though.

I have had my Kindle DX since Christmas, I got it with Amazon's very nice leather case. The leather case however, is heavy, awkward to hold on a train, and prone to getting beat up in my backpack. The mCover shell is a great alternative. It defends the Kindle from most abuse while it's in my backpack, but it leaves the Kindle instantly accessible, (easy to tell, at a glance, if it is on or off), it is easy to hold, and it is light weight. Also, it is inexpensive. The cool little book stand feature in the back has turned out to be very convenient for using the Kindle on those occasions where I find myself eating alone.

This cover not only protects the screen it adds protection to the whole Kindle DX. I only wish I had found it sooner. It also gives you clear reading no mess no bubbles. And the stand allows you to set the Kindle up to read while you are taking notes.CLEAR mCover® Polycarbonate Hard Shell Cover Case with Hard Screen Protector for 9.7-inch Amazon Kindle DX eBook reader

From skimming the other reviews, it seems there are some common criticisms of this case. I have found that some of those charges are warranted, but some are unfair. (That is, unless people are literally receiving different versions of this case.)

Charge #1: The front panel doesn't stay in: ... I have found this to be untrue. Once I figured out that the screen should be snapped in last, pushed in from the outside, mine fit and stayed in very securely. However, this positive is offset by the fact of ...

Charge #2: The protector screen portion of the mCover makes the Kindle screen harder to see: ... Unfortunately this is true. I am someone that had been disappointed in my Kindle DX's display already. I found it depressingly muddy and unpleasant to read dark grey words on a lighter grey background. (Customer service told me that this is "normal." i.e. get used to it.) When the mCover screen is added to the Kindle, it visually adds glare and additional (albeit subtle) darkness to the already problematic Kindle screen background. I ended up popping out the mCover front panel because of this by sticking a knife under it from the opening on the page-button side of the Kindle and pushing outward.

It may seem like the case deserves a one-star review right there. After all, isn't the purpose of this thing to protect the screen? Well, for one, I can't imagine any hard plastic cover not obscuring the visuals at least a little. It's not the mCover's fault that the Kindle screen was already kind of hard to read to begin with (in my opinion).
