Some of the other reviews I read prior to purchasing these jewel cases indicated that they'd had some issues with broken cases upon arrival, but I was fortunate and mine were all intact. I live only a couple of hours from the PA distribution center so I imagine that's a big factor. The cases themselves were in great shape and reasonably packed with bubble wrap. The reason I purchased them is to replace cases for some of the items in my ebay store.
Another thing mentioned was that the plastic was thinner than a standard case and thus more likely to break, but I don't think that's true for the cases I received. It is possible that customers have had their orders filled with different manufacturer's products over time, thus there could be a difference in quality. The only difference I've noticed between these and the standard case you get when you buy a CD is that on of the spine edges is slightly curved, instead of a full 90 degree angle. It's a very subtle difference and really only noticeable upon close inspection, and doesn't affect the case function at all.
Lastly someone mentioned that when removing the tray to replace the back of the case, it was likely to break due to the previously mentioned thinner plastic. I did this with a few cases already, and the only 'problem' was a bit of difficulty removing the tray, but was possible as long as I was careful.

The cases are standard music CD sized Jewel cases as per the product description. I bought these to replace the cases that were broken in my music collection and the inlays - both front and back - fit fine in these cases. I required clear cases as the cases I wish to replace had rear inlays printed on both sides.
The plastic on these cases is very brittle so care needs to be taken when unclipping the disc holder part of each case.
The cases were apparently packed very well, (wrapped in bubble wrap, then in a large box containing plastic air pockets), but somehow 3 or 4 arrived damaged and in a couple of instances the cases were totally smashed up. However, as I didn't require more than ten or so currently, I'll just throw the faulty ones away. Over twenty useable cases out of twenty-five for the price I paid was acceptable to me.

These are great for cleaning up used albums that have scratched or broken cases. When they arrived, two of the cases had very large, deep scratches, and about two others had unnoticeable scratches, but every other case is in mint condition! They were loosely packaged, which may have been to blame. It arrived a few days into the predicted delivery, but still within the dates. I would definitely buy these again from mediaxpro.
Many people are complaining about the cases being very thin and fragile, but they probably don't know how to open the back part of a case. If you try peeling it back by wedging your fingernails into an opening, then you will end up snapping the case in half. You must first remove the cover flap gently buy pulling the pegs out. Then you take the disk out, and apply pressure to all four corners (one at a time) until the disk holder pops out. Then just place the paper tracklist in and snap everything back into place. I have never broken a case using this method.

I ordered these from mediaxpo to replace some music cd cases that had become scratched/cracked. They came in box that was well protected, but the product itself leaves something to be desired.
For one, nearly half of them have white streaky scratch(es), that are quite noticeable. Two, the cd cases I received are, without a doubt, made of thinner plastic than the standard cd case you get when you buy an album. I compared one of them to the stock cd cases I was replacing. They are flimsier and more flexible than the original cd cases. They also tend to creak when you apply pressure or open the cases, which can be somewhat annoying. However, these cases are very clear, clearer than the original cd cases which is great for looking at the art.
If you're not bothered by the possible scratches and lower quality of the cd cases, then these do the job. Otherwise I think you're better off buying from a brick and mortar store so you can easily compare the quality.

It seems you either get a good batch of these cases from other reviews or you get a bad batch. I got a bad batch. If they still make these cases with the same composition of material, then I do not recommend these at all. I have found many problems with these Jewel Cases so I will list them:
1) They are too thin and break and crack easily
2) If you have to take out the cd "tray" to put in the back cover of your cd, the cd "tray" will almost always break. Once again the material these cases are made from is too thin AND too brittle. I have over 750 cd's and have been buying for almost 30 years, I am not a novice.
3) If you leave the cd jewel case in a hot car, it almost always will melt and distort and ruin. I have only had one other jewel case over the thousand plus cd's I have owned throughout the years ever do that and it only bowed out some and was still usable. These cases are like Bake Light Plastic from the 70's-just pop it in the oven and bake!
4) They are nothing in comparison in quality of the original jewel case you are replacing. The "factory" originals are a thousand times better
Plain and simple-if you never take you cd's out of the house, never have to disassemble the jewel case for any reason and basically never use again then waste your money on these. Otherwise don't buy them!

OK, let's face it, the CD jewel case is an atrocious design. It needed to have been passed by a mechanical engineer with experience working in plastics before the design was finalized, but it wasn't, and it shows. The hinge tabs break off, the retaining nubs in the center break off...
The good news is, this is a low enough cost for a bulk pack of jewel cases that you can just replace all of your broken jewel cases without worrying about the cost. They're generic jewel cases, about as well made as any other, nothing special to see here. Just throw the broken ones away and stop worrying about it.
