Great Colors and Ideal Gift for Dressing Up Kids Room!!

Just setup my Meross led strip lights in the living room. Had an open space above the TV wall, that I wanted to do something with for years. Saw these strip lights and started checking online, how to add power. Read where I could just get power from my hardwired smoke alarm, which was just below the open space. Added an outlet, and my wife was very excited how it turned out. I ordered another Meross led strip light kit for my grandson, for his room, for Christmas. He doesn’t have a cell phone, so the remote is great to have with it. I use the Meross app, and was very easy to install. In the app, there is an effects option in color. On my video, I have it set on “Party”. The strip lights are very bright, and I usually have them set on 50 to 75%. During the day, I have them set on a light blue or green, to give a calming, warm feeling, in these stressful times!! What can I say, Meross, you did a Great job on a new product again. In the instructions, Meross says not to have the lights turned on, more than 5 seconds, when the lights are completely rolled up on the spool, so be careful when checking lights out.

Pretty good LED strips

I have many Meross smart products so the quality and ability to control the lights/use with HomeKit was not in question. You can use their app or Home to control light schedules, color, brightness etc.
These installed easily and it comes with a long power cable and some accessories to help mount the control unit and keep it neat. The lights are quite bright and I am using them under cabinets and happy with them. The strips can be cut (at certain spots only) and reconnected or just cut to the lenght you need them.

Making a right angle (90 degree) is not really possible with these, you will need to buy 4 pin connectors if you plan on running these strips at that angle. Contrary to other reviews, you do not need to remove any coating to use with a connector - just cut at the designated area and slip both sides into the connector.

There is also no true white color setting for the lights, you can play with the colors in the app and get pretty close but it will always end up slightly tinted to a color.

The backing adhesive is 3M and works pretty well, I did have a few spots that needed to be re-stuck. I would advise prepping the mounting surface as much as possible (sanding/cleaning) and it should yield good results.

Overall, I am happy with these strips and how they integrate into Apple Home and would buy more if I needed them.

Worth more than they charge

When I was first presented with the opportunity to purchase these and try them out, I was very excited. I've been wanting a go at smart LED strips since I saw Philips start doing it. I avoided it because good gravy Philips likes to drop huge price tags on their Hue stuff, which I firmly believe is vastly, and synthetically, inflated. Meross, however, comes along with these.

First off, build quality is good. These are the moisture resistant strips, not the uncoated cheap strips you find around this price point for not smart strips. So even more of a surprising deal, since they didn't mention that part. If you've never ventured into long light strips such as these in any capacity, beware that the adhesive to stick them down is very inconsistent. Sometimes it sticks to surfaces just fine, a lot of times really, but in some cases, even if there's no reason why they shouldn't, they don't and it can be a pain in the butt. Using double sided foam tape to replace the backing is how I get around this. I find this issue mostly happens when trying to stick them to the black ABS plastic used in the casings of electronics like TVs.

Functionally this thing is great. It responds quickly, the app is easy to setup, and it does everything it says it will. The app is a bit low tech overall, but gives you all the basics needs for smart controls such as scheduling, scenes, and other triggers. Meross has a BUNCH of smart tech that you can tie to these as well.

What I've been a little sad in is two main things; non-stationary light modes and lack of voice control over them. So, there is a mode where you can customize a color changing cycle of the lights, and the ways they change and the speed. The sad part for me is that there's no ability to animate them. No chasing or movement, it's just one color switching to another, whether a hard switch "strobe" or a fading in and out. I would have enjoyed an RGB light trailing like you see on the RGB lights for computer fans and such. Rainbow waves, you know?

But for $23? That's just beggars be choosers, because you are already getting way more for your money than you would expect here.

The funny part is, I realized that as much as I wanted these lights, I had no idea what to do with them. I thought it would be easy to find them a home and it wasn't, BUT when I did, I was very happy. Our over mantle painting was primed for backlighting, and it was as great as I was thinking it would be.

I bought these strip lights to match my meross smart home, and they work flawlessly. The strip light comes with a sticky backing, and little clips of you don't want to take the backing off. There are a lot of colour modes like flashing, fading in and out, and static colour. My kit did not come with a remote since the light is fully controlled by the meross app.
The strip itself is made very well and is thicker than other brands and very responsive.
This can also be paired with Google home to be fully automatic which is my favourite feature.

Frankly, after having purchased and used many types of LED strips, this one I can honestly and enthusiastically endorse.
Why:
1) they work - easy setup - easy control with smart phone app - haven't tried iPhone Siri or Alexa or ...
2) the color control is phenomenal - they are bright with excellent combinations of RGB with warm/white and also with cool/white - and any combination of all of these simultaneously.
3) I like the two independent and separate white colors and you can use them both independently or in any combination.
4) there is an independent power on/off button on the controller so you can turn them on/off using this control.
5) they can be cut to length of specific places on the strip.
With all of those positives, be aware that this is a 6-pin/wire set. Extension cables/connectors are not easily found as are 4-pin solutions; however, it's worth the flexibility and quality of the light produced by the set.
I've ordered two more sets, I'm that impressed. Excellent quality and value for money.
