I was going to build my own flash bracket until i found this one! I just could not get over the low cost and was a bit worried. I figured at this cost, it was worth a try! It was exacly what i wanted and needed! It works great as a Macro photography flash bracket and tilts my flash perfectly above my lens and is built like a tank!!! If you are a Macro freak, like me, you will love this! This bracket is a best buy! If you dont want to spend 50.00 or more on a flash bracet, this one is for you! I have posted a photo of my set up above, so you can see how it holds my speedlight at the pefect angle! Thanks and have fun!!!

This double L-shaped bracket is just what you need to organize you photography equipment. I purchased two (2) of them. They are well made, sturdy and light weight [aluminum]. I did make some changes to the brackets to meet my own requirements. Moved the rubber padding from the second set and attached it to the top surface of my now "U" shaped bracket.

One bracket has a 3" long slot [short side] and a 4 ½"long slot [long side]. The other bracket has a 3" long slot and a ¼-20 hole [1 ¼" from bend] on the slot side [long side] and (3) ¼-20 holes and one M8 hole on the short side. All slots are accessed via a ¼-20 hole at one end of the slot. I agree with other reviewers to be careful with the threaded hole to the slot. It is easy to cross-thread.

I needed a bracket on which to mount my Canon® Camcorder, Zoom® H6 recorder above it and Sennheiser® WE100 G3 wireless mike in a cold shoe on the side of the bracket (see photos]. I found no problems with the black finish on these brackets. It is as durable a one could expect. I tighten all screws finger tight, which is all that is necessary. I have been using this "U" bracket for about three months now.
See photos! Love'em, can't beat the price!

I used these to build the Frugal Stabilizer II. These are the same ones Scott bought. (Except his are from Ebay.) Everything is metal, including the nobs. The nobs also have a 1/4 20 hole on the thumb screw side.

They do smell a little like burning tire at first, but that goes away after 3 weeks.

This is a two part set with four knob screws. This is a very versatile tool with a whole lot of configurations. The knobs tighten to a solid hold. The brackets are beefy and padded on some sides. This can hold a Canon DSLR, an LED light panel, shotgun microphone and maybe even more. I've been using this for video for a few months and I would definitely recommend it.

Hi guys, I bought this thing for a DIY camera stabilizer I wanted to build, namely the KrotoCam. These worked perfectly. Very sturdy and well made. I only have two small critiques....

#1. The matte black finish is pretty thin. I noticed that in the slots where the thumb bolts are, the paint scraped bare pretty easily. So now I have some spots in my slots (like, the first day I used it) where there is bare metal. This is only a small annoyance, but then, I don't see myself using this out in the rain. Well, I mean, I haven't yet.

#2. The knurled sides of the thumb bolts aren't that great. It's hard to get a really good hold, and I'd like to see it be a little more rugged plastic. I have to use channel locks to get them really tight, and I feel that is eventually going to break the heads off of them.

On YouTube, I followed instructions by The Furgal Filmmaker to build a steadycam mount for my camera using 2 of these brackets, and they work really well. One of the threads on one of the brackets did get stripped out somehow, but if you're more careful than I was I think you'll be fine. :)

Works well for me to attach my Canon VIXIA HF R600 camcorder, Tascam TM-ST1 microphone, and Samsung Note 3 cellphone all on the L-bracket and then onto one single tripod. (Holder for microphone and cellphone bought separately, both with standard tripod 1/4-20 connections) The slots and threaded holes are not deburred but are not sharp either, and if you are as picky as I am you can always deburr it yourself as I have done. Some reviewer said the slot is narrower than the 1/4-20 thread - of course it has to - the screw has a narrow neck between the thread part and the screw head, and it is the narrow neck that is sliding along the slot, and the thread retains the screw in the slot. So you can not use a standard 1/4-20 screw, you need the special kind as described above (4 shipped with the product). The is also threaded holes to directly connect the bracket to a tripod.

First off, buy TWO or more of these, even if you only need one. As others wrote the config possibilities will keep you busy tweaking this or that. The hole placements and design are nearly perfect.
The only warning is to be gentle with the screw threads. They strip easy and I had to fix one of them due to my constant fiddling.
Put the screws in perfectly straight and gentle. Everything is solid and strong mounted, but the aluminum threads are delicate. As others mentioned the black finish is thin and easily scratched, but nothing a Sharpie won't cover up. Minor quibbles aside, these are awesome.
