This story is filled with enough heat to make me want to run outside and cool down in the ice cold snow ;-) Ann Grech has a way with words that not only tells a story but paints a picture. I look forward to reading more from her in the very near future.
If you're looking for a quick sexy read during your lunch break or um *cough* before bed - I totally recommend this story.
Jos Farris is the bad boy of racecar driving, so much so that he lands himself in trouble. After his mistake, he decides to drink away his problems. News reporter Cassie Lane is also having an uneventful day and finds herself in the same bar after discovering she has lost her job.
Their chance meeting ends with one very steamy night of passion that neither forgets. After some time, the two are reunited and realize that night meant something. Can they pick up the pieces where they left off, or do they completely split ways?
One Night in Daytona is a fast-paced novella. Even with it being a novella, I wanted more character depth for Jos and Cassie. If Jos was so into Cassie, then why did he constantly find himself “bedding other women,” as he notes? The reader only sees a small window after they meet up again that discloses Jos was constantly looking for Cassie. Then, on the other hand, if Cassie knows all of this information, then why does she take him back so quickly? She is a very educated woman, and by being a reporter, I expected more questioning on her part.
Two people at their lowest point meet in the most unlikely of places, an out-of-the way biker bar. He lost a major race that took him out of contention; her big story took a hit when the source bailed on her.
One touch sparks a reaction from them both and throwing caution to the wind, they spend a passion-filled night together. She leaves to go home; he wakes up alone.
No note or number left. No last names exchanged. He cannot forget her; she is devastated because he didn't call.
A chance encounter months later.....will the sparks fly again or have all the embers burned out???
No spoilers from me; you'll have to buy the book and see how the story ends and whether or not a HEA occurs.
Jos and Cassie both have a day from hell and sit down next to each other at a bar in Daytona Beach. They share instant chemistry and share a one night stand that leaves them both wishing for more than a one night stand. They spend months apart yearning for each other until fate brings them together yet once again.
The sex scenes are hot and are quickly brought into the book within the second chapter. This is how quickly some stories should be instead of dragging this out till the middle of the story. This is a great read and while it was my first for Ann Grech, I will be reading her other books now that I found this author.
