About the Author

Nommé directeur des Études générales à l'École Supérieure de Guerre, Le Lionnais devient chef de la division d'enseignement et de diffusion des sciences à l'UNESCO au début des années 1950. Cofondateur et président de l'Association des écrivains scientifiques de France (initialement financée par l'UNESCO), il devient également membre du Comité consultatif du langage scientifique de l'Académie des sciences et du Comité d'étude des termes techniques français, ainsi que conseiller scientifique de la Commission de restauration des oeuvres d'art des musées nationaux français, et expert technique auprès du Conseil indien pour la recherche scientifique durant cette décennie.
