This mug is awesome. I got it for my dad as a christmas present because he's a big coffee/tea drinker. He was initially a little wary of the fact that it's about 10%-20% smaller than a regular mug, but he got over that pretty quickly once he loaded it up the first time and watched the fuel gauge rise.
It's a unique, amusing, and fully usable mug, just be aware that it's slightly smaller than a regular coffee mug so you'll be drinking a lot more cups than you're used to to get the same volume of liquid.
Update 1/17/13:
I am subtracting 1 star from my previous review. It is important to note that this item is NOT dishwasher safe. After several rounds in the dishwasher the "fuel gauge" started to peel off, and now this cup is just a plain white mug that is slightly smaller than other mugs in the cabinet.
A word to the wise: Don't put this thing in the dishwasher or scrub it too vigorously in hot water.

I purchased this item as a gift, the mug was a lot smaller than I expected, I was expecting something somewhat bigger, especially being a novelty item.I expected the print on the mug to actually be part of the mug itself, I have owned colour changing mugs before and expected this one to follow suit. The "black" print however can be felt on the outside of the mug, it is actually raised up a bit. Leading one to believe that this can easily begin to scratch off after a few washes - Even with a non-abrasive wash which it advises in small text.The guage print of the black over the red is not aligned correctly, so when the mug is half full, you can see that there is a bit of a shoddy print job. I have uploaded some customer images to reference this.I like the concept, but seriously needs some improvements.

Davon abgesehen, finde ich es merkwürdig, dass man im 21ten Jahrhundert immer noch Tassen produziert, die nicht spülmaschinentauglich sind. Man sollte also alle im Haushalt über diese Tasse informieren und am besten noch nen Zettel mit dem Spülmaschienenhinweis daran kleben, sonst sieht sie sofort aus wie auf dem Foto oben ;)
Ich kann von der Tasse nur abraten, ist eine totale Enttäuschung.
