- As a psychotherapist and a mom of 4 myself, I could certainly relate, but the beauty of it is that every mom will relate and it gives us permission (that we sometimes need) just to be real and relax and know that being a good enough mother is excellent! Thank you for sharing you story so that you can normalise ours, Nadene. - Dr Zoe Shaw, California
- Nadene writes openly and vulnerably about the realities of parenting - and how being an "expert" in psychology / child development does not mean the parenting journey is paved with gold and ease. However, she also writes respectfully, telling her own story whilst protecting the stories of her own "little people". Each snippet chapter can easily be read in the five minutes breathing space available between one demanding parenting task and the next.....the very realness with which she shares her experience will resonate with other parent-readers and connect with them in a moment of company in their own lonely times. From the Author
I began writing the tales in this ebook to explore the journey of parenthood and to normalise the experience of others. Parenting requires an enormous transition for most people and especially the primary carer. So often we are critical of ourselves for not being perfect or for at times finding parenting less than enjoyable. I faced a number of challenges as I adjusted and also has my little people faced a variety of issues.
As I wrote the tales, more and more ideas kept popping into my head. Eventually I decided that there was enough to make a short ebook.
This is my first ebook, so I also needed to learn a lot about what programs and publishing formats to use. It's been a journey in itself. I hope you enjoy the tales.
