I would not use this grinder to make nut butters. (I make my own nut butters all of the time, in my 14 c. Cuisinart Food processor, which does an amazing job. In my experience, you need at least a 7 cup food proc. to make any nut butter).
This little grinder is not meant for the motor to be running for as long as it takes to make nut butter.

The best peanut butter made at home is made with a Champion Juicer. It is also an excellent juicer and can be used for making, smoothies, fruit purees, sorbet etc. With the grinder attachments it can grind grain. They make 2 models a regular and a commercial model. Buy the largest one you can afford it will last a lifetime.
