The only reason I'm rating the game 4 stars for overall is that I'm not finished with it yet. It's a really fun and different seek and find game. There are minipuzzles to solve and spells that you have to mix up to get to other levels. So far I'm enjoying the paths and the artwork and soundtrack are wonderful. It's challenging but not so much so that you become frustrated. There's a hint bottle that once used has to refill, but it can also be used (without refilling) to get to other puzzles that have to be solved. A really enjoyable puzzle.Deadtime Stories [Game Download]

I've finished the game, my review hasn't changed other than it's 5 stars now instead of 4. I do wish it was longer but usually the way a good game goes. I hope there will be more Deadtime Stories in the future.

As stated in other reviews a great seek-and-find game with some interesting and slightly challenging mini puzzles/problem solving bits. The story is good, entertaining, the art work very well done also unique to what I've gamed before. This is a good game for old eyes as it is not as dark as some I've played that can make searching for objects "headache" inducing. Refreshing that it is not another vampire themed game.

This game has the usual hidden object sections but also has an interesting mix of puzzles and problems to be solved. Nothing is terribly difficult so a good game for those looking for entertainment... The storyline is a bit eerie and well-done.

Nice graphics, good storyline, interesting mix of seek&find along with other puzzles. Definitely a cut above the rest although a bit short ( why are all the really good ones too short?).

In any case, if you like a bit of eeriness with your HOG, this one is a good bet.

I liked the game, I really did, but there were a few things that made it only 3 stars instead of five.

First, the good. I loved the ambiance of the game. I love New Orleans, so it was fun for me to be immersed in that southern spooky feeling that N.O. is known for for a few hours.

That leads into the bad part of it. It was only a few hours long. I played straight through it an it only lasted about 5 hours, and this was with me confused for part of the game and being A.D.D. with other computer programs while playing it, so it took longer than it would have (I would estimate that it would probably run only for about 3 or so hours for focused players). Another bad thing about it, was the set up-I thought it would have been multiple stories (since it is called "Deadtime STORIES") all leading up to something with the crypt keeper(the creators should think about this storyline, it would have been a much better game)--but I guess I was hoping for too much. It was ONLY ONE story, so it felt so incomplete, as well as the story seemed just to mashed together at the end.

The game play was another thing about it, it was pretty confusing in some sections on what to do (I even had to cheat and find a walk-through of the Well scene since I was given little to no directions for it--and I hate cheating at games), not to mention you go to the same hide puzzles repeatedly, so by the time I went to the garden for the 8th time, I had it pretty much memorized. Also I am not a fan of having to go back to scenes many times, and they do this throughout the game, culminating at the end where you have to go to all of the 5 scenes (1st house, 2nd house, swamp, victim's residence area, and the graveyard) and find more stuff, which is annoying.

Deadtime Stories starts in a cemetery that is overseen by a cute anime featured cryptkeeper named Edward. He tells you that every grave has an inhabitant with a story. The story to be told in this game is about Jessie, a voodoo queen in old New Orleans.

I liked this game very much. The graphics are outstanding and the scenery is eerie as befitting the storyline. Much of the gameplay involves collecting ingredients for potions which I enjoyed concocting.

The puzzles in this game are topnotch. There are a few anagram type games, one involving a wheel of skeleton heads that reveal a secret message when you click them in the right order. There's a logic game where you put medicine bottles in the correct order on some pharmacy shelves. In one game you use a potion to "paint" spirits and set them free.

As another reviewer mentions, the game creators considerately point you towards the scenes you need to interact with next as the game goes on. You are provided a carriage which lists the relevant locations and then takes you there.

I definitely am looking forward to the next installment of this game.

I love puzzle/search and find games. This game had it all. Definitely fun, the only drawback is that it is too short. I was expecting to have another game to be able to access when finished, but no such luck. I hope more games like this are available.

I hadn't played anything like this for years, i always felt like i would think it was boring after years of shooting countless foes in first person shooters. However, i was pleasantly surprised by this game. I chose to download it from amazon, it was a quick and easy installation to my laptop. I sat down on the couch one night with my significant other and we both enjoyed a hidden object game that was unlike any HOG i had played before. There was a spooky storyline to follow, hidden objects to find, and a wide assortment of puzzles. There are quite a few scenes to explore and each one is a treat to view, the developers put a lot of detail and love into each scene. Some objects are difficult to find, but there is a hint system in place that shows you the general area it's in and it recharges so you can use it over and over. We've enjoyed the soundtrack so far, it seems appropriate for the New Orleans setting. Overall this is quite a little gem. It's the first i've played in years so maybe im overly excited because it's so new to me.
