e pluribus haiku 2017: a thousand moments, one journey Paperback – June 4, 2017
About the Author
Thomas Leverett was born in Cleveland in 1954 and lived in Toledo, Pittsburgh and Buffalo before graduating from high school. When he went traveling (1974), he saw four countries, Guatemala to Alaska, and it influenced him for life, to the point where he’d stand in post office lines and write haiku about his experience. After a variety of jobs, he went on to university and a 30-year ESL career in Kansas, Illinois and Texas, but has moved out to the mountains of New Mexico now, where he is becoming a high school social studies teacher. He is married, has ten children and seven grandchildren, but, having found the high mountains, is less inclined to travel than he used to be. He is fully aware that haiku is not a money-making proposition, and writes for the joy of expression; he also has written a volume of Quaker plays, and six volumes of short stories, which can be found at tlevspress.blogspot.com.
