But the real prize of the book is the quiet, nostalgic pieces, played mostly on the piano in the original score: "Reminiscence", "The Canal At Dusk", "A Dream", and "Longing for Mother's Return". These are all breathtaking, especially "Longing for Mother's Return".
The only complaint I have about this book is that I wish it included more, especially the other soft pieces, "Looking Back" and "Signal Flags". I had really been looking forward to playing those, but I guess the best I can hope for is to be able to sound them out myself as they don't appear to be in any other book. I would also have liked to have the quieter "swing" songs, like "The Party", and "Walking Home in the Rain". But what the book does include definitely makes it worth the purchase.
