Missing parts. Poor customer service

At this point, the basketball system is strewn across my den including the 12 foot long pole that can't be disassembled after you put the sections together. We took all the pieces out and thought we had everything, but we were missing a key piece that stopped us early in the process. There are a lot of pieces, so I contacted the company on June 23 to get the piece. Almost three weeks later we still don't have the piece. Their customer service is very poor, and it seems that missing pieces are not unusual, so their quality control is lacking too. Their rep basically told me that the only way I could get the piece sooner would be to buy it in store, take the piece we need, and return it. So if you are trying to get this for a present, be sure to allow plenty of extra time for this company's mistakes and incompetence. Be sure you very specifically count all of the pieces (all 200 of them) before you even start assembling. The original shipment was a day late and didn't arrive in time for my son's birthday, but amazon, as always, did a great job in that customer service area. It is the manufacturer who leaves a lot to be desired. Maybe once the hoop is up and not sitting on a chair in my den I will be happier with it. Just know that this manufacturer has some issues and is not very helpful in correcting their mistakes.
