If this book had been written by somebody else I likely wouldn't have bought it as the subject is merely of passing interest to me. However, I really enjoy Ms Roach's witty and engaging style of writing and I felt sure that she would entertain me as she has in other books. In truth, I didn't quite enjoy this one as much as
Stiff: The Curious Lives of Human Cadavers
or
Packing For Mars
. A lot of the book focuses on scientific investigations and details a number of experiments so it is not that surprising that the author was not always able to keep her characteristic light and jaunty tone throughout. Still, I did enjoy it on the whole and will likely read it again. By the way... prospective purchasers should be aware that this book is actually a re-release under a new title of Roach's
Spook
, published in 2005.
