Pierce and Anna are having a nice quiet life in the Bahamas when Dorothy Trigg, a Deputy Director with the CIA tracks him down. Charlie Henican, to whom Hunt is indebted, has been captured in Turkey. Charlie sometimes does contract work for the CIA and was on his way to assassinate Jorge Ramirez. Ramirez was supposed to have information that could be detrimental to the United States. Someone leaked the information that got him captured and Trigg uses that to reel Hunt in to her plan. Hunt and the CIA are not on good terms. He does most of his contract work with the DEA. Trigg and company get attacked on the way to the airport. The two police cars accompanying them are attacked and the officers murdered. Her son, Max, also seems to have been killed. Meanwhile, Ramirez has made his way to Sweden and Hunt is given the job of killing him, instead of rescuing Charlie in Turkey. Then even the hit on Ramirez is changed and it is obvious to Hunt that he is being set up. Meanwhile, in the Bahamas, Trigg hires Simon Carter, a very good friend of Hunt’s, to investigate the attack down there. Things are getting dicey and they get a whole lot dicier. At least the DEA has Hunt’s back. Pierce isn’t the only one being set up. The action never lets up and the surprises just keep coming!
