This is a tragic narrative written by a 36-year-old woman about the mentally ill mother she fled from when she was 14 and the burden of guilt she carried forever after. Dealing with a mentally ill family member is a mindfield even for adults but one can only imagine how harrowing it can be for a child. Only after hearing that her mother had died did the author find the courage to try to learn more about her mother but somehow it seems only to increase her guilt. This is a heartbreaking story with no happy. What a burden to carry. I wish her well - she did all that is humanly possible.
