One look at the Parisian moms looking frazzled while dropping screaming, messy babies at daycare makes you aware that the author is glossing over quite a few things. Of course moms look lovely at lunch... their kids have been in high quality daycare since just a few months old. People told us that they have to start their kids early in order to get into the best centers. On weekends, many kids look polished and well behaved, because they are out to lunch with their extended family. It is a special, once a week outing to the park and lunch. One concern I have about this book is that she really doesn't mention ages. I've heard moms reference this book while restricting food for an infant. Infants have small bellies. They shouldn't be told to wait until 4pm snack.
