I bought the DA power system tool to try out car detailing, entry level tool for person with no experience. I have had a couple of tries at the tool itself, I can say that it is a well built tool and does exactly what it says it will do. How much of a benefit it is going to be to me, will be based on how quick I am able to master the technique. I have no problems with the tool.
I do however have a problem with the polishing pad that came with the tool. On my first attempt polishing with it, the hook and loop detached from the sponge pad. Attaching the pad to the velcro hook and loop is fool proof. It fits snuggly onto the velcro attachment. I know that I secured it properly and that it was not a result of my negligence that it came off. Reason for me saying that, I used both the compound and wax pads and did not get the same result. In fact, the area for the velcro attachment on the compounding pad is much bigger. If I was to break anything, it would have been on that pad, based on the difficulty of getting it flush in the centre of the disk or attachment.
I wasn't expecting this on my first rodeo with the pad and am a bit dissapointed in the quality. Was expecting more uses out of the pad before needing to replace it.
It is for this reason, that I have only given the kit a 4 star rating. The pictures will show exactly what it looks like after trying to re-attach without any luck.
