Our office has had this machine for 7 months and it has not been functioning properly, smearing copies. Toner was replaced, machine cleaned; new drum not indicated. Called Brother Customer Service; they claim it needs a new drum; the drum only has a 90 day warranty while the entire machine has a one year warranty. Brother wanted to charge over $220 for a new drum, which may or may not fix the problem and, which is one-half the price of the entire machine! Outrageous!! If the new drum doesn't fix the problem, then you will have spent over $220 for nothing!
