I bought a handful of backpacks that were advertised as being able to “fold up” in to their own self containing pockets. The appeal of this is that when traveling you can carry it in a suitcase and unpack/use as needed without having to port it around in backpack form unless you want or need to. I returned this item, however, because the “packed up” size was just way bigger and way bulkier than other models I looked at. It probably means that this bag has more features when unfolded - better or more straps for stability, for example. But space is at a premium in my main bag, so this foldable backpack wasn’t for me.
