I bought two of these for added peace of mind. I have 3 children and all of our bedrooms are up 3 floors from the ground with no roofing in between for an escape in the event of a house fire. I hope never to need it, but I’m extremely happy we have them in our rooms if we need them. My children are all too young or small to be able to lift and set up these ladders independently unfortunately, but I know that in the next few years my oldest should be capable of using this herself If needed. In the meantime, we do have an escape plan in place on how we would evacuate our kids. I also purchased a rapid baby evacuation device bag which zippers closed and is attached to a long tether so that I could get my baby and toddler out quickly and safely. It is rated up to 75 lbs and I highly recommend other parents to purchase this also if you have small children. Looks to be a good and sturdy device. Did not open up Incase could not fold back up.
