I love Mary Connealy's books, and this first book in the Brides of Hope Mountain series did not disappoint. As usual, Connealy's humor fills the book. The premise is unique, as the three Nordegren sisters live on top of the mountain and have never left. Their grandmother had instilled in them the fear of the outside world and the danger and disease that exist in it. But their lives soon change when the outside world comes to them with the arrival of the Warden family. The middle sister, Jo, is intrigued by them, especially the handsome rancher Dave. Younger sister Ilsa slowly warms to them as she uses her medicine skills to treat Dave's father, Quill, who has suffered a gunshot wound. But the oldest sister, Ursula, carries all the fears of their grandmother and refuses to have anything to do with them. This series has a story line that will obviously continue into future books, so I am eager to read them all.
